    • Struggles versus Miami
Wheeler pitched four innings, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two batters in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Wheeler didn't have his best stuff Sunday, matching a season-high six hits given up while the two strikeouts were a season low. Most notably, the right-hander gave up a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the bottom of the third inning, which was only the fourth long ball surrendered by Wheeler in 2024. The 33-year-old still owns an impressive 2.53 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 53.1 innings in nine starts this season, and his next projected outing is set to come Friday at home versus the Nationals. • Ryan Helsley perfect in earning 12th save
Ryan Helsley notched his 12th save with a perfect ninth against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Helsey struck out two. He’s been credited with a win or a save in 87.5% of the Cardinals’ 16 victories this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:46 pm
    • Zack Wheeler tagged by Marlins on Sunday
Zack Wheeler allowed six runs on six hits in four innings in a no-decision against the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Wheeler allowed seven hard-hit balls in just four innings of work, including a three-run homer to Josh Bell. He posted just a 12 percent whiff rate and 15 percent CSW and was only able to land his sinker in the strike zone 32 percent of the time. It feels like just an off-game for Wheeler, whose velocity was fine. He’ll carry a 2.53 ERA into next week’s start against the Nationals. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:11 pm

    • Freddy Peralta fans eight Cardinals in no-decision
Freddy Peralta recorded eight strikeouts and yielded three runs over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Peralta induced 16 swinging strikes, including 12 alone on his fastball, and finished with a solid 34 percent CSW. The 27-year-old righty continues to pitch at an elite level for fantasy purposes this season with a strong 3.63 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 58/16 K/BB ratio across 44 2/3 innings (eight starts). He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts so far and is in line to face the Astros on Friday in a challenging road matchup. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:32 am
    • Can't keep ball in park Saturday
Steele escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates, surrendering six runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Making just his third start of the season after missing all of April with a hamstring strain, Steele served up homers to Connor Joe and Oneil Cruz in the third inning and Michael Taylor in the fourth, but he got taken off the hook for the loss thanks to a seven-run fifth by the Cubs. Steele has yet to complete five innings in an outing and threw just 74 pitches (53 strikes) Saturday, but he should begin to get stretched out more as he puts the injury further behind him. Steele will take a 4.73 ERA and 11:4 K:BB through 13.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to be a rematch with the Pirates back in Wrigley Field next week. • Strikes out eight in quality start
Peralta allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Peralta threw 71 of 100 pitches for strikes in his return from a five-game suspension. The right-hander earned his first quality start in four outings and his fourth of the year, though he's yet to pitch past the sixth inning this season. He's at a solid 3.63 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 58:16 K:BB over 44.2 innings through eight starts. Peralta's next start is projected to be on the road in Houston. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:09 pm
    • Justin Steele allows six over four in no-decision
Justin Steele didn’t factor into the decision Saturday while allowing six runs over four innings against the Pirates.

Advice: Steele’s start was officially cut short because of a long rain delay, but it’s unlikely he was going to continue based on how well — or more accurately, not well — he was throwing. The southpaw allowed six hits and three walks with three strikeouts, and he allowed a Pittsburgh lineup that had been awful as of late to break through. These things happen. Steele will be back on the bump with a rematch against Paul Skenes and Pittsburgh next week. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:25 pm

    • Back from suspension Saturday
Peralta was reinstated from his five-game suspension and will start Saturday's game against the Cardinals in Milwaukee.

Advice: Peralta was handed the five-game ban for throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in an April 30 game, but he initially appealed the suspension and made his next turn through the rotation this past Sunday against the Cubs. He dropped his appeal a day later and began serving the ban, which concluded Friday. Peralta was presumably able to stay on his usual between-starts throwing regimen while he was suspended, so he shouldn't face any restrictions with his pitch count as he returns to the rubber Saturday. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Pfaadt (1-3) took the loss Friday as the Diamondbacks fell 4-2 to the Orioles, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander produced his third straight quality start and fourth of the season on 88 pitches (56 strikes), but Pfaadt generated only six swinging strikes as he came up empty in the strikeout department for the first time in 26 big-league starts. In fact, he'd never fanned fewer than three batters in an outing before Friday. Pfaadt will take a 4.60 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB through 47 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Reds. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:09 am
