• Not in Tuesday's lineup
Mateo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Washington, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Mateo started the previous four games and will head to the bench after going 3-for-14 with two homers. Jordan Westburg will shift to the keystone while Ramon Urias starts at third base. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Wenceel Pérez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Guards
Wenceel Pérez (illness) has returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Guardians.

Advice: Pérez is back in center field and batting second for Tuesday’s contest at Progressive Field following a two-game absence due to illness. The 24-year-old has gotten off to an encouraging start in his big-league debut, batting .296 with three homers and two steals in 19 games since being called up back in early April. • Taking batting practice
Thomas (knee) will take full batting practice on the field Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: It will be his first time doing so since he went down with a left MCL sprain in his knee two weeks ago. Thomas will need to do some running and other drills before being cleared for a rehab assignment, but he seems to be making nice progress. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Status uncertain following setback
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Thomas is headed back to Phoenix to be reevaluated after feeling renewed discomfort in his left hamstring while on a rehab assignment, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Thomas had appeared poised to be activated from the 10-day injured list soon, but now his status is cloudy again following a setback. He first injured the hamstring back on March 31 and had played four rehab games with Triple-A Reno. More clarity on Thomas' situation should be available later this week. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Grayson Rodriguez unlikely to require rehab start
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) continued playing catch on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace. He should be able to jump right back into the Orioles’ stacked rotation mix by mid-May without a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
  • Cubs activate Cody Bellinger for Tuesday return
Cubs activated 1B/OF Cody Bellinger from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Bellinger will make his return to Chicago’s lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Padres following a two-week absence due to a rib fracture. The 28-year-old slugger was off to a bit of a slow start at the dish this season, batting .226/.320/.440 with five homers and 17 RBI in 97 plate appearances over 22 contests before a collision with the center-field wall back on April 23 resulted in a rib injury. Fantasy managers should make sure he’s back in their respective lineups moving forward. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
