• Plates pair in Sunday's loss
Urias sent 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double and a run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: Urias accounted for almost all of the Mariners' offense on the afternoon, plating Luke Raley and Dylan Moore with a single and double, respectively. The 26-year-old snapped an 0-for-15 skid that had encompassed his previous seven games, and his multi-hit effort was his first of a season where he's still carrying an abysmal .162/.279/.338 across 86 plate appearances. • Rangers send Davis Wendzel to Triple-A
Rangers optioned INF Davis Wendzel to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Wendzel did not appear in the last homestand and is just 2-for-29 in 17 games with the Rangers this season. He will return to a .314/.419/.657 slash line at Triple-A with three home runs in nine games. His defensive versatility will likely put him in line for another call-up later in the season. • Danny Mendick starts fourth straight games
Danny Mendick is making his fourth straight start at third base on Monday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 30-year-old has come off the IL and immediately stepped into an everyday role, which is interesting since he’s slashing .224/.255/.367 with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate in 13 games this season. It’s a lost season for the White Sox and Mendick is not on fantasy radars. Rotoworld Today, 8:58 am

  • Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Wendzel to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Wendzel is just 2-for-29 at the plate this season and hadn't played in more than a week, so this transaction comes as no surprise. The Rangers have not announced a corresponding move, but Grant speculates that Sam Huff could be recalled. Rotowire.com Today, 8:49 am
  • Yankees option Oswald Peraza to Triple-A
Yankees activated INF Oswald Peraza from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Peraza was placed on the IL with a shoulder strain during spring training, which gave Oswaldo Cabrera the chance to compete for a starting job. The Yankees also traded for Jon Berti, so the infield has gotten a bit crowded. Peraza will try to get his timing back at Triple-A, but there doesn’t appear to be any path for him to make it back to the big leagues unless there’s an injury to any of the players ahead of him. • Out again for first game
Riley (side) is not in the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Padres.

Advice: Riley hasn't played in more than a week due to intercostal inflammation in his left side. He hopes to try swinging a bat soon but would appear to be at least a few days away from returning to the lineup. Zack Short will again be at third base for Atlanta in Monday's afternoon tilt. • First hit since return
Mendick went 1-for-3 with a double Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: Mendick was activated from the injured list Friday and has since started all three games at third base while hitting in the bottom third of the order. He collected his first hit since returning with a double in the seventh frame. With Bryan Ramos (quadriceps) sidelined, Mendick should have a clear path to playing time in the short term. • Serves as cleanup batter
Smith started at third base, batted cleanup and went 2-for-4 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Smith filled in as the cleanup hitter after Adolis Garcia was scratched with a forearm issue. He extended a hit streak to five games (7-for-20) but has cooled off overall in May (.630 OPS) after a strong April (.927). Despite the downturn, Smith still gets plenty of opportunities with Josh Jung (wrist) unavailable. Rotowire.com Today, 5:49 am

  • Has ankle injury
Steer is dealing with a sore ankle, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Steer was held out of the starting lineup Sunday as a result of the ankle but served as a pinch hitter. He walked for Will Benson with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and was removed for a pinch runner. Cincinnati manager David Bell said Steer should be back to 100 percent for Tuesday's series opener at home against the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 am
