    Brandon Nimmo belted a leadoff homer on Monday in the Mets’ loss to the Cubs.

    Advice: Nimmo took Cubs starter Jameson Taillon deep to open the ballgame with his third long ball of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since a two-home explosion back on April 8. Unfortunately, it was all New York’s offense would muster for the remainder of the contest as they wound up with just three additional hits against Taillon and relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Héctor Neris.   • Jazz Chisolm Jr. provides only runs in loss to Nats
    Jazz Chisolm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Monday.

    Advice: Déjà vu. Jazz has homered in back-to-back games. The 26-year-old got Miami on the board in the sixth inning when he took Jake Irvin’s fastball 414 feet to deep center field. Chisolm got off to a slow start this season, where he saw his batting average as low as .130 seven games into the season.   • Not cleared for baseball activities
    Heyward (back) has not yet been cleared to resume baseball activities, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

    Advice: The Dodgers' last update on Heyward was that he was still experiencing soreness in his back, and it doesn't sound as though he's progressed much over the last week. Considering Hayward hasn't seen any game action since April 1, he'll likely need a considerable amount of time to ramp up once cleared.   • Heyward (back) still not cleared for activities
    Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters before Monday’s game that Jason Heyward still hasn’t been cleared for baseball activities.

    Advice: To be more specific, Roberts said that he “doesn’t believe” Heyward has been cleared for activities, which is a little weird. Heyward will certainly need a rehab assignment before he’s ready to play, but that assignment may not come until next week at the earliest.     Andujar (knee) is expected to run the bases Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

    Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Suzuki (oblique) upped the intensity of his baseball activities Saturday and Sunday but is not close to beginning a rehab assignment, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

    Advice: Suzuki is getting a recovery day Monday before resuming baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. While he would appear to be progressing slowly but surely, he still has some hoops to jump through before he's ready to go out on a rehab assignment.   • Austin Hays (calf) not doing much activity
    Austin Hays (calf) is getting better according to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, but hasn’t been able to participate in much physical activity.

    Advice: Hays was somewhat surprisingly placed on the injured list with a left calf strain last Monday, and it doesn’t appear he’s near a return at this point.
