• Tobias Myers to start for Brewers Friday
Brewers RHP Tobias Myers will start on Friday.

Advice: Myers has been up and down from the minor leagues already this season. He has a 5.40 ERA in seven appearances (six starts) at the major league level this year. Myers will take the ball Friday night against the Tigers opposite Reese Olson. Rotoworld Today, 11:13 am

  • Drawing start Friday
Myers will start Friday's game in Detroit, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Myers was available in relief for Wednesday's game against the Phillies after being recalled from Triple-A Nashville earlier that day, but since he wasn't needed, he'll be thrown back into the rotation this weekend against the Tigers. The 25-year-old has made six starts and one relief appearance for the Brewers this season, posting a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings. Myers could be needed for additional starts after Friday as Milwaukee battles numerous injuries to its rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 10:54 am

  • Set to start Friday
Irvin will start Friday's game against the Rays, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Irvin will start on regular rest, so it's not particularly notable that he will take the ball for Baltimore on Friday. However, that also moves Kyle Bradish back at least one more game, giving him multiple extra days of rest after Cade Povich took Bradish's original turn Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:54 pm

  • Cole Irvin starting on Friday against Rays
Cole Irvin will start Friday’s series opener against the Rays.

Advice: Irvin will take the ball in place of Kyle Bradish, who is getting a couple extra days of rest as the Orioles manage his workload after dealing with an offseason elbow issue. The 30-year-old lefty holds a 2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 37/12 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (11 appearances, nine starts) this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:45 pm

  • Eight RBI in last seven games
Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: Rodgers accounted for the majority of his production with a two-RBI single in the first inning. He now has at least one extra-base hit and one RBI in three straight games and has driven in eight runs across his last seven starts. Rodgers has lacked power production early this season, though he has managed a .274 batting average with 46 combined runs and RBI across 57 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:54 am

  • Handed loss Wednesday
Kimbrel (4-2) allowed an unearned run on two hits over one-third of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Isiah Kiner-Falefa delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning to hand Kimbrel his first loss since April 28. This also ended Kimbrel's scoreless streak at 7.2 innings, though he hasn't given up an earned run since May 8. The closer has a 2.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 31:9 K:BB and 13 saves in 16 chances through 21.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:13 pm
  • Continues power surge
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Santander produced the first run of the contest with his solo shot to right field in the second inning. He's gone deep in three of his past five contests to push his season total to 12 long balls. Santander is also working on an eight-game hitting streak during which he's gone 11-for-30 (.367 average) with three homers, six RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:51 pm

  • Craig Kimbrel takes loss to Blue Jays in ninth
Craig Kimbrel, who entered a tie game to start the bottom of the ninth, took a loss after giving up an unearned run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: The unearned run was his own fault, as he threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt. The runners to reach against him both did so on singles, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s game-winning hit to right would have been caught if Kyle Stowers wasn’t playing shallow to prevent the sac fly with one out. It’s obviously a bad result, but since Kimbrel’s pitching wasn’t really the problem tonight, it’s unlikely to throw the closer’s role in Baltimore into chaos again. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:18 pm
  • Returns to majors
The Brewers recalled Myers from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Myers should be available out of the bullpen beginning with Wednesday's game against the Phillies, but he might be needed to make some starts while the Brewers are without multiple rotation members. The rookie right-hander holds a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings for Milwaukee, covering six starts and one relief appearance. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:29 am
