    Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday that Vaughn Grissom lost 14 pounds due to illness earlier this month.

    Advice: This certainly helps explain some of his struggles out of the gate as he’s batting .152 (5-for-33) with one extra-base hit and two RBI through eight games in his Red Sox debut. It’s been a strange few injury-plagued months for the 23-year-old middle infielder since arriving in Boston in the Chris Sale trade.     Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that Harper (migraine) will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Harper was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup after he developed a migraine, but his symptoms abated as the game versus the Mets went along and he was available to pinch-hit, if needed.     Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that he expects Realmuto (knee) to return to the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

    Basso was recalled from Double-A Midland on Tuesday.

    Advice: Basso is set to make his first MLB appearance of his career, being called up after logging a 2.84 ERA in 25.1 innings at Double-A. He made one start at Triple-A this year but surrendered nine runs on 10 hits in 2.1 innings. Basso replaces Easton Lucas on the major league roster and could have a shot at making a spot start with Alex Wood (shoulder) and Osvaldo Bido (finger) dealing with minor injuries.     Adrian Houser has been scratched from Wednesday’s start against the Phillies.

    Advice: Mets manager Carlos Mendoza declined to specify who will take Houser’s place after the 31-year-old righty was forced to warm up in the ninth inning during Tuesday’s contest against the Phillies. It’ll most likely be lefty Joey Lucchesi coming up from Triple-A Syracuse to make a spot start, but nothing official yet.     Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Bryce Harper (migraine) is feeling better and will return on Wednesday.

    Advice: Thomson added that Harper’s migraine cleared up during Tuesday afternoon’s contest against the Mets to the point that he was available to pinch-hit.     Gelof (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at second base Tuesday against the Astros.

    Advice: The 24-year-old has been sidelined nearly three weeks by an oblique strain and is back with Oakland after a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas.
