• Angel Chvilli sent back to Double-A Harftord
Rockies optioned RHP Angel Chivilli to Double-A Hartford.

Advice: Chivilli was up for three days while Justin Lawrence was away on paternity leave. With Lawrence active, Chivilli will report back to the Yard Goats. Rotoworld 2 minutes ago
  • Justin Lawrence activated off paternity list
Rockies activated RHP Justin Lawrence off the paternity list.

Advice: Lawrence was away from the team for three days. He’ll likely return to the closing role with Angel Chivilli heading back to Double-A Hartford with Lawrence back. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago
  • Cubs activate Steele (hamstring) for start Monday
Cubs activated Justin Steele off the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Steele is off the IL and will be the starter for the Cubs on Monday against the Royals. The left-hander made one rehab start while recovering from his hamstring trouble, but he should be stretched out enough to provide fantasy value in the coming weeks. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

  • Garrett (shoulder) whiffs 13 in rehab start
Braxton Garrett (shoulder) struck out 13 batters over 5 2/3 innings in a rehab start Monday in the Florida Complex League.

Advice: Garrett didn’t allow a run and gave up just one hit. It’s really not fair to FCL hitters they had to face a talent like the 26-year-old, but the Marlins wanted Garrett to get one more rehab start. His next outing should come at the MLB level. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • Likely to get start Wednesday
Bido will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas and is likely to start one of the games during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bido has been really good this season with Vegas in a difficult pitching environment, posting a 2.59 ERA and 39:13 K:BB across 31.1 innings of work. The 28-year-old didn't have as much luck during his time with the Pirates last season with a 5.86 ERA in 50.2 frames, and his minor-league track record is hit-or-miss. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • A.J. Puk (shoulder) whiffs two in rehab appearance
A.J. Puk (shoulder) struck out two batters over a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance Monday in the Florida Complex League.

Advice: Puk is going to work out of the bullpen whenever he comes back from his shoulder injury, and the left-hander has looked solid thus far in his rehab appearances. The 29-year-old has had success in that relief role, and if the Marlins were to move closer Taylor Scott — something that has been rumored as of late — he could be inline for save chances. • Strikes out 13 in rehab start
Garrett (shoulder) struck out 13 batters and allowed one hit and one walk over 5.2 scoreless innings in his rehab start Monday for the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.

Advice: Though he was facing off against a lineup consisting mostly of teenage hitters, Garrett was dominant nonetheless in what was likely his fifth and final minor-league rehab start. Garrett, who has been on the 15-day injured list all season while recovering from a left shoulder impingement, will likely be activated this weekend to start Saturday or Sunday versus the Phillies for what will be his 2024 debut with the Marlins. • Ready for rehab assignment
Bubic (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Royals' Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bubic is working his way back from last April's Tommy John surgery and is finally ready to pitch in games again. It's possible he could be ready to rejoin the big club in early June after his 30-day rehab window expires, but Bubic does have options left so the Royals could keep him in the minors indefinitely if he doesn't look ready. • Starts up rehab assignment
Puk (shoulder) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Advice: Puk has turned in identical two-strikeout perfect innings in the FCL since he started up his rehab assignment Friday. The left-hander broke camp as a member of the Miami rotation, but after turning in a 9.22 ERA and 2.63 WHIP over his four starts before landing on the injured list April 20 with shoulder fatigue, he'll work out of the bullpen once the Marlins activate him. Puk could settle into a high-leverage role in front of closer Tanner Scott right away upon his return to the big club. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago
