    • Michael Wacha will begin a rehab assignment
Royals RHP Michael Wacha (foot) will begin a rehab assignment on Monday in the Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Wacha was hit in the foot by a comebacker on May 31st and was placed on the IL with a fracture a couple of days later. He threw a three-inning simulated game last Thursday and reported no issues, so he’ll step up to a short rehab start and continue to work his way back from there. Provided his foot responds well to this start, he could quickly move through the rehab process. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Making rehab start in ACL
Wacha (foot) will make a rehab start Monday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Sunday that Wacha may only need the one outing in the minors before returning from the 15-day injured list and making his next start with Kansas City this coming weekend in Arlington versus the Rangers. Wacha threw a three-inning simulated game Thursday, so he could be stretched out for close to a typical starter's workload if he's able to tack on another inning during Monday's outing. The right-hander has been on the injured list since June 2 with a non-displaced left foot fracture. Rotowire.com Today, 9:40 am

    • On base four times in loss
Olson went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: The first baseman extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and his extra-base hit streak to five games, with another impressive performance. Olson is batting .410 (16-for-39) over that 10-game stretch, pushing his slash line on the season to .261/.342/.471 with 11 homers and 38 RBI in 69 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 8:38 am

    • Hitting streak ends
Tovar went 0-for-4 Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Tovar went hitless for the first time in his last eight starts, and in that span, he hit .393 with three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored. That stretch helped him continue to build on an impressive breakout season, as he's hitting .290 with a .809 OPS to go along with 11 homers and four stolen bases across 70 contests. • Removed from Sunday's game
Yoshida was hit by a pitch on the hand during the seventh inning and removed from Sunday's game against the Yankees, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Boston manager Alex Cora said Yoshida is okay but will not start Monday in Toronto with a left-hander on the mound. The manager expects Yoshida back in the lineup Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:27 am

    • Corbin Carroll doesn’t think injury is serious
Corbin Carroll (ribs) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he doesn’t believe his rib injury is serious.

Advice: He’ll undergo a precautionary MRI exam in Arizona on Monday before traveling to join the team in Washington. Carroll said he felt much better after Sunday’s game though, and is optimistic that he won’t have to miss any time. We’ll have to wait and see what Monday’s imaging yields. • Set for MRI on Monday
Carroll (side) will undergo an MRI in Phoenix on Monday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Carroll left Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox in the seventh inning with left side discomfort, and he will now require some additional imaging. The Diamondbacks will begin a three-game series on the road against the Nationals on Tuesday, and with Carroll staying in Arizona for the MRI on Monday, it's possible that he's forced to miss at least one contest. In his absence, Randal Grichuk would stand to see an increased role in the outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:48 pm

    • Corbin Carroll (side) heading for MRI exam
Corbin Carroll will remain in Arizona to get an MRI exam after leaving Sunday’s game with rib cage discomfort.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder sustained the injury while making a throw from the outfield during Sunday’s game. While the exact nature and severity of the injury are not yet known, the fact that he’s heading for an MRI exam isn’t encouraging. If it’s an oblique issue, a stint on the injured list seems like a near certainty. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week. • Dealing with rotator cuff strain
Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain Sunday following an MRI, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Yamamoto was lifted after two innings in his start during Saturday's win over the Royals with what the Dodgers had termed as right tricep tightness. As expected, Yamamoto was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday, but the Dodgers didn't provide an updated diagnosis on his injury until after the results of his MRI were read. Manager Dave Roberts said that while the injury is not "season ending," Yamamoto Is "not going to throw for a couple of weeks, then we'll see where we go from there." Fortunately for the Dodgers, they'll be getting some reinforcement to their rotation in the form of right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder), who is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list during the upcoming week. After he was roughed up for five runs over one inning in his MLB debut March 21 against the Padres in Seoul, South Korea, Yamamoto had been as good as advertised over his subsequent 13 starts, ringing up a 6-1 record, 2.34 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 82:16 K:BB over 73 innings.
