• Absence continuing Friday
Westburg (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old will miss a second straight game after being hit by a pitch on the right hand Tuesday against the Red Sox. Westburg had X-rays come back negative and should be considered day-to-day. Ramon Urias is starting at the hot corner Friday for Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm

  • Westburg out of lineup for second straight game
Jordan Westburg (hand) is out of the Orioles’ lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Westburg is out of the lineup for the second straight game. He was hit on the right hand by a pitch on Tuesday, missed Wednesday’s game and the Orioles were idle on Thursday. Westburg is yet to be placed on the injured list and X-Rays on his hand came back negative. His next chance to get in the starting lineup will come on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:47 pm

  • Absent from lineup versus lefty
Garcia is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Atlanta.

Advice: Southpaw Ray Kerr is drawing the start for Atlanta, so the left-handed hitting Garcia will defer to switch hitter Ildemaro Vargas at second base. Garcia is slashing just .194/.265/.226 versus lefties this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:37 pm
  • Exiting starting nine Thursday
Frazier is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Frazier will give way to Nick Loftin at second base after occupying the keystone in four of the previous five contests. Though he'll be on the bench against a right-hander (Chris Paddack), the lefty-hitting Frazier is still expected to see the bulk of the starts at second base while Michael Massey (back) is on the injured list. • Edouard Julien is sitting on Thursday
Edouard Julien, Max Kepler, Trevor Larnach, and Alex Kirilloff are not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Normally, this would be a signal that the Twins are facing a left-handed starter, but they’re facing Brady Singer. This could have something to do with it being a day game after a night game, but Brady Singer does have reverse splits over his career. Perhaps the Twins think stacking righties against him will give them a better chance to win. However, Julien not being in the lineup is also noteworthy because he has not been performing of late, slashing .186/.278/.200 in 24 games in May with a 36.7 percent strikeout rate. He’s not a player you have to hold in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:58 am

  • Resting in series finale
Julien is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: With Thursday's contest being a day game after a night game, manager Rocco Baldelli will give rest to several key regulars. Along with Julien, Alex Kirilloff, Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach will rest as the Twins open up room in the lineup for reserves Kyle Farmer, Carlos Santana, Manuel Margot and Christian Vazquez. • Starting to heat up
Donovan went 3-for-4 with a double and a hit-by-pitch in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: This was Donovan's third multi-hit effort in the last five games. He's now gone 17-for-49 (.347) over his last 13 contests, though he has zero home runs and six doubles in that span. The 27-year-old is up to a .245/.326/.382 slash line with four homers, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored, 14 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 233 plate appearances this season. Donovan's lack of steals and mediocre sprint speed -- in the 42nd percentile, per Statcast -- makes him an odd fit for the leadoff role, but that's where he's hit for most of the campaign. Masyn Winn has also seen time at leadoff versus left-handed pitchers recently, but Donovan remains atop the order versus righties. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:28 pm

  • Red Sox recall Enmanuel Valdez from Triple-A
Red Sox recalled INF Enmanuel Valdez from Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: The 25-year-old infielder will replace the injured Tyler O’Neill (knee) on the team’s active roster. Valdez has already appeared in 28 games for the Red Sox this season, slashing an underwhelming .156/.186/.267 with two homers, 11 RBI and a 30/4 K/BB ratio. He can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:22 pm

  • Joins active roster
Valdez was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old joined the Red Sox as a member of the taxi squad due to Tyler O'Neill (knee) being banged up and is now on the 26-man roster with O'Neill headed to the injured list. Valdez has a .453 OPS in 98 plate appearances with Boston this season and should serve as a reserve infielder while up with the big club. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:21 pm
