• Recalled to big club
The Cubs recalled Vazquez from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.

Advice: Vazquez, 27, has hit .262 with three home runs over 39 games with Iowa this season. He will provide some protection on the infield with Nico Hoerner (hamstring) banged up and would be making his major-league debut if/when he gets into a game. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

  • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Sosa is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rangers.

Advice: Sosa has received most of the starts at shortstop since Trea Turner went down and boasts a .924 OPS over that time. However, the Phillies are going with Bryson Stott at shortstop and Kody Clemens at second base versus righty Jon Gray and the Rangers. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

  • Missing from Tuesday's lineup
Caballero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Caballero will get a day off Tuesday, giving way to Amed Rosario at the shortstop position. Caballero owns a .257/.315/.365 slash line across 164 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Taking seat Tuesday
Brujan is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Brewers.

Advice: Brujan had made 16 straight starts, with the last nine of them coming at shortstop while Tim Anderson (back) was out. Anderson has returned to the Marlins' lineup at shortstop Tuesday, and the club is sticking with Otto Lopez at second base while Brujan gets a breather. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Officially reinstated
Anderson (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Anderson will be available for Tuesday's game against the Brewers after missing exactly 10 days with back soreness. In two rehab starts, Anderson went 4-for-9 with a two-run home run and four additional runs scored, possibly a sign of encouragement for fantasy managers after Anderson started the MLB season batting .197 with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate. • Tim Anderson activated off of injured list
Marlins activated INF Tim Anderson off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Anderson missed nearly two weeks while dealing with a lower back strain. The 30-year-old has hit just .197/.234/.221 with no homers and three steals in 128 plate appearances, and it’s very possible his days of being a fantasy option have passed. Tristan Gray is back in Jacksonville to make room for Anderson on the roster. Rotoworld Today, 11:34 am

  • In-game replacement in IL return
Crawford (oblique), activated from the injured list earlier in the day, entered Monday's win over the Yankees as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning and remained in the game at shortstop, going 0-for-2.

Advice: Crawford struck out swinging in his pinch-hit appearance and subsequently flied out to center to close out the ninth. The veteran shortstop was logging his first game action since April 23, and given his in-game appearance and ability to play defense Monday, he's a likely candidate to return to the starting nine Tuesday. • Report: Anderson coming off injured list Tuesday
Isaac Azout of SBNation reports that the Marlins will activate Tim Anderson (back) off the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Anderson was placed on the injured list May 13 with lower back tightness, so the shortstop will end up missing a little over a week. He’ll take over starting shortstop duties, and Tristan Gray will be optioned back to Triple-A in the corresponding move per Azout. Rotoworld Today, 9:55 am

  • Will be activated Tuesday
The Marlins will activate Anderson (back) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's contest against the Brewers, Isaac Azout of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Anderson will have missed just the minimum 10 days while dealing with lower-back tightness. He played in two rehab games with Triple-A Jacksonville, going 4-for-9 with a home run. Anderson has shown no signs of figuring things out at the plate with the Marlins, however, as he will return to a woeful .197/.234/.221 batting line with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate.
