• Slated to bat ninth in return
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that LeMahieu (foot) will start at third base and bat ninth Tuesday versus the Angels in his season debut.

Advice: LeMahieu had appeared in line for leadoff duties with the Yankees before suffering a non-displaced fracture of his right foot shortly before Opening Day. However, Anthony Volpe looks to have a tight grip on the leadoff job now, pushing LeMahieu to the bottom of the batting order for the time being. LeMahieu is slated to be the team's primary third baseman, although he will be given extra off days initially as the Yankees ease him back into action. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 am

  • On bench for matinee
Bader is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old has a .281/.361/.391 slash line through 21 games in May and will sit for the first game of Tuesday's twin bill. Tyrone Taylor will instead start in center field, though Bader will likely rejoin the lineup for Game 2. Rotowire.com Today, 9:46 am

  • Starling Marte sitting first game of doubleheader
Starling Marte is not in the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: Marte will get the first game of the twin-billing off. While he sits, the Mets will have Tyrone Taylor handle center field with DJ Stewart in right field. Harrison Bader is also out of the lineup for the first game against Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers. Rotoworld Today, 9:37 am

  • Absent from lineup
Vientos is not in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Dodgers.

Advice: It will be Brett Baty handling third base and being tasked with trying to solve right-hander Tyler Glasnow. Vientos figures to be in the lineup for the nightcap against Gavin Stone. Rotowire.com Today, 9:37 am

  • Sitting out first game
Marte is not in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Advice: Marte will surely be back among the starting nine for the second contest, but he'll begin the first one on the bench as the Dodgers send tough right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the hill. DJ Stewart will patrol right field in the first game. Rotowire.com Today, 9:35 am

  • Stays hot in Monday's win
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a win over the Astros on Monday.

Advice: Crawford provided one of two multi-hit efforts for the Mariners on the afternoon while hitting safely for the sixth time in the last seven starts. The veteran shortstop has been clicking at the plate since his return an IL stay from an oblique injury, producing a .296 average and .848 OPS across his last 30 plate appearances despite a 26.7 percent strikeout rate in the same span. • Looking good in batting practice
Alvarez (thumb) was reaching exit velocities over 100 miles per hour during batting practice over the weekend, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 22-year-old catcher is still wearing a splint on his surgically repaired thumb, however, and the Mets aren't going to rush him back from the 10-day injured list. The team may also use his recovery period to have him work on his positioning behind the plate, as Alvarez has a tendency to be overeager reaching for pitches and is susceptible to getting his glove hand smacked by a swing. Alvarez was batting .236 (13-for-55) with one home run and eight RBI through 16 games when he was injured in mid-April. Rotowire.com Today, 7:43 am

  • Lars Nootbaar day-to-day with hamstring issue
Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said Lars Nootbaar is “day-to-day” with a hamstring strain.

Advice: Marmol said that the team believed that keeping Nootbaar out of the lineup on Sunday and Monday is “the smart thing to do,” but they “don’t see it lingering.” That provides some optimism that Nootbaar could make it back in the middle of this week; however, hamstring injuries are known to linger so fantasy managers in weekly lineup lock leagues could decide to play it safe and sit Nootbaar this week. • Remains out Monday
Nootbaar (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cincinnati.

Advice: Nootbaar was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup due to a hamstring issue. With tough left-hander Nick Lodolo on the mound for the Reds on Monday, it makes sense to hold Nootbaar out again. Cincinnati does another another southpaw scheduled to start Tuesday in Andrew Abbott, so it's possible Nootbaar could remain out until Wednesday. For what it's worth, Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday of Nootbaar's injury that "we don't see it lingering," per John Denton of MLB.com. Dylan Carlson will be in right field Monday.
