• Slugs first homer
Hayes went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Hayes jumped on a hanging sweeper from Tyler Rogers in the top of the 10th and sent it into the stands for his first home run of the season, going back-to-back with Bryan Reynolds as the Pirates took care of the Giants in extra innings. The third baseman has now registered two hits in back-to-back games and in three of his last six overall, batting .333 (8-for-24) over that stretch. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago
  • Adds another steal
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with one RBI, a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over Atlanta.

Advice: Ramirez didn't run much early in the campaign, but he's gotten back to it with all four of his steals this year coming over the last eight games. He's gone 9-for-32 (.281) in that span while adding nine RBI and four extra-base hits. Overall, the star third baseman is doing fine with a .259/.276/.455 slash line, five home runs, 24 RBI and 19 runs scored over 116 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 12:05 am
  • Could play in Vegas on Sunday
Davis (thigh/groin) joined Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday to partake in baseball activities and is expected to serve as the designated hitter for the Aviators on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Davis has been sidelined since sustaining his injury April 14, but he'd been ramping up physical activity in recent days. Manager Mark Kotsay said Saturday the plan is for Davis to rejoin the Athletics on Monday, at which point it will be determined whether he'll need to play in more rehab games or if he's ready to be activated from the injured list. • Swats late homer
Rosario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Rosario's eighth-inning solo shot didn't have much of an impact on the final outcome, but it did end Ranger Suarez's scoreless streak at 32.2 innings. The blast also snapped a 15-game homerless stretch for Rosario, though he often came on as a pinch hitter and thus had just 25 at-bats during that stretch. The 24-year-old had been seeing his playing time trend up of late, but that could be impacted by Manny Machado's return to playing third base Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:39 pm
  • Knocks in four runs Saturday
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional RBI in a 5-1 win against the Padres on Saturday.

Advice: Bohm got Philadelphia off to a quick start with a two-run homer off Dylan Cease in the first inning. The team didn't score again until the fifth frame, and Bohm added two more RBI in that inning on a two-out single. The third baseman has been arguably the league's hottest hitter of late -- he's on an 11-game hitting streak during which he's gone 22-for-43 (.512 average) with three homers, 16 RBI, 10 runs and a 4:5 BB:K. • MRI shows inflammation in knee
Sano said after Saturday's 16-5 loss to the Twins that he's day-to-day after an MRI revealed inflammation in his left knee, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sano looks to have avoided a major setback with his surgically repaired left knee. He exited games Wednesday and Friday due to soreness, and Angels manager Ron Washington told Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register that the left knee had contributed to Sano's recent struggles at the plate. While Sano says he's day-to-day, it wouldn't be surprising if he remained out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale with Minnesota, and a stint on the injured list can't be completely ruled out. • Belts first big-league homer
Shenton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a walk Saturday in an extra-inning loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Shenton came into the contest having gone 0-for-8 with three strikeouts over his previous four contests, but he turned things around with the opportunity to start at first base and work as the Rays' cleanup hitter. The 26-year-old enjoyed a personal highlight with a solo shot to left field in the fifth inning for his first major-league long ball. Shelton slugged 29 homers over 134 minor-league games last year, so he could be an intriguing source of power if given more opportunity. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 pm
  • Breaks out of slump
Farmer went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's victory over the Angels.

Advice: Farmer finally broke out of a terrible slump as he was hitting .100 (5-for-50) with a .390 OPS in his first 21 games. Farmer is splitting playing time at third base with Jose Miranda with Royce Lewis and Carlos Correa injured. Farmer will likely move to more of a bench role when Correa returns in the next few days with Willi Castro likely to get the most playing time at third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm

  • Alec Bohm drives in four runs with homer vs. Padres
Alec Bohm homered and drove in four runs in a victory Saturday over the Padres.

Advice: Bohm got the party started with a two-run homer off a shaky Dylan Cease in the first inning. The 27-year-old added two more RBI with a single off Cease in the fifth to bring his RBI total 26 in 28 games. That number isn’t sustainable, but Bohm is going to get a lot of run-producing changes as long as he’s effective enough to justify hitting in the middle of this loaded Philadelphia lineup.
