• Isiah Kiner-Falefa wins game for Blue Jays
Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with two RBI, including the game-winner, as the Blue Jays edged the Orioles 3-2 on Wednesday.

Advice: The game-winner was a fly to deep right that would have normally been caught but dropped because the fielder was playing shallow in the hopes of cutting down the runner from third base. The other RBI came on an infield single in the second. That’s just what Kiner-Falefa does, though, and his contributions have been a little more valuable this year with power numbers down across the league. As sad as it is to write, his current .704 OPS is a tad better than the league OPS on the whole. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:18 pm

  • Records first MLB home run
Malloy went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: While it was an ugly night for the Tigers, it was a great night for Malloy. The rookie delivered his first MLB hit in the top of the sixth inning, and it also happened to be his first MLB home run. Malloy added a single a few innings later for good measure. The 24-year-old is a promising prospect with some power upside, and he figures to see regular playing time at least for the foreseeable future, giving him an opportunity to show what he can do. • Josh Smith homers, steals base in victory
Josh Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, two RBI, a stolen base, and a walk in the Rangers’ 9-1 win over the Tigers on Wednesday.

Advice: Smith filled the stat sheet on Wednesday with an excellent day at the plate. He drew a walk in the first inning and stole second. Smith then led off the third with a solo homer off Joey Wentz. He doubled in the fifth and later drove in a run with a base hit in the sixth. The 26-year-old infielder is having a solid season at the plate, hitting .290/.377/.440 with four homers, 30 runs scored, 24 RBI, and four steals across 220 plate appearances. • Justyn-Henry Malloy slugs first career homer
Justyn-Henry Malloy went 2-for-3 with a solo homer against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Malloy’s first career hit in the majors left the yard as he took Jose Ureña deep for a solo homer to lead off the sixth inning. He added a base hit in the eighth to make it a two-hit game. The 24-year-old has started all three games at designated hitter since joining the big league club on Monday. He brings with him some intriguing power upside after slugging 23 homers in Triple-A last season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:57 pm
  • Injures leg Wednesday
Machado was removed from Wednesday's game against the Angels due to an apparent leg injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Machado suffered the injury while running to first base on an attempt to beat out a double play during the fourth inning. The slugging third baseman likely tweaked something in his lower body while running, but the Padres should clarify the nature of Machado's injury relatively soon. • Leaves with injured foot
Morel was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox after fouling a ball off his left foot, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Morel looked to be in a considerable amount of pain after getting hit in the foot, but he remained in the game to finish his at-bat, during which he drew a walk. Patrick Wisdom entered the game as a pinch runner, and the Cubs will now take a closer look at Morel. The 24-year-old had gone 5-for-16 with two homers and three RBI across his last five games heading into Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

  • Manny Machado exits with apparent leg injury
Manny Machado was lifted from Wednesday’s contest against the Angels in the fourth inning due to an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Machado suffered the injury while hustling down the first base line to beat out a double play ball in the fourth inning. He tried to talk his way into staying in the game, but wound up getting replaced by pinch-runner Donovan Solano. It doesn’t sound like it’s something that should sideline him for long, but we’ll know more after he undergoes further evaluation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 pm

  • Christopher Morel exits with injury on Wednesday
Christopher Morel was removed from Wednesday’s battle against the White Sox in the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off of his left foot in the seventh inning.

Advice: The 24-year-old finished the plate appearance where he worked a walk but was ultimately lifted for a pinch-runner. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures in his foot and the Cubs should have an update on his status after the conclusion of Wednesday’s ballgame. • Royce Lewis homers again in loss to Yankees
Royce Lewis homered for the third consecutive game on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Twins past the Yankees.

Advice: Lewis went deep on opening day and then crushed another homer in his return from the injured list on Tuesday. He followed that up with a 373-foot (100.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Dennis Santana in the seventh inning that pulled the Twins to within six runs at 9-3. He finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .571/.667/1.857 with three homers and three RBI through his first three games on the season. He just needs to stay healthy.
