    Jimenez, who was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, fired two perfect innings with four strikeouts over his first two relief appearances with the Aviators on Friday and Sunday. He also recorded a save in the latter outing.

    Advice: It's a small sample, but the decision to demote Jimenez after a couple of uneven outings earlier in May appears to have been a prudent one. The right-hander has breezed through his first pair of minor-league appearances, and if he continues on a similar track, Jimenez could soon find himself back on the big-league roster.     Wilson allowed two runs on five hits and five walks over four-plus innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out one in the loss to St. Louis.

    Advice: Wilson walked home a run in the second inning but managed to hold the Cardinals to one run through four frames. He was knocked out of the contest after coughing up a home run to Paul Goldschmidt and a double to Alec Burleson to begin the fifth inning. Wilson has produced a shaky 16:13 K:BB over his last four starts but owns a 2.21 ERA during that span. He's produced a 2.65 ERA through 34 innings this season.     Neris (3-0) picked up the win Sunday against the Pirates, allowing two hits and one walk over a scoreless inning. He struck out one.

    Advice: Neris took the mound in the top of the ninth during a 2-2 ballgame and fired off a scoreless inning, eventually earning the win after the Cubs put up three runs in the 10th. Since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, Neris has converted all six of his save chances and has earned a pair of wins.     Helsley struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Milwaukee on Sunday.

    Advice: Helsley needed only 12 pitches (10 strikes) to quickly close out the 4-3 victory. Since blowing a save in his season debut, he's converted 12 consecutive chances.   • Allows run in ninth save
    McArthur allowed a run on one hit and did not walk or strike out a batter over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

    Advice: McArthur was tagged for a solo home run by Willie Calhoun in the ninth inning, but the Royals' lead was never in real danger. Over 4.2 innings in May, McArthur has yielded six runs (five earned), with three of the eight hits he's allowed in that span leaving the yard. He's 9-for-12 in save opportunities while adding a hold, a 4.42 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander's shaky pitching of late hasn't cost him the closer job, but John Schreiber has been an excellent setup man and could take over if McArthur doesn't start locking things down.     Advice: Montas was cruising until the Giants built up a five-run rally in the fifth inning. The right-hander has made seven starts this year, and in the six during which he has been able to avoid injury, he's allowed two or fewer runs three times while giving up five runs in each of the other three. That averages out to a pedestrian 4.20 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 30 innings overall. Montas is projected for a difficult road start versus the Dodgers in his next outing.     A.J. Minter suffered a blown save on Sunday night, serving up a walk-off two run homer to Brandon Nimmo in a loss to the Mets.

    Advice: Minter — who was called upon with Raisel Iglesias unavailable — allowed Jeff McNeil to reach on a bunt single to start the inning. After a successful sacrifice by Tomas Nido, Nimmo clobbered the game-winning blast to spoil the Braves’ bid for a sweep.     Alex Wood lasted just two innings in Sunday’s loss to the Mariners, giving up five runs (one earned) on four hits.

    Advice: Wood also issued a base on balls and recorded a strikeout in the abbreviated outing. The M’s scratched out a run against him in the first inning on an RBI single by Mitch Garver. They tacked on four more runs in the second — the final two on a blast from Julio Rodriguez. Wood generated just four swings and misses on 60 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 25 percent.   • Frankie Montas pulled in fifth against Giants
    Frankie Montas was roughed up for five runs — four earned — in 4 2/3 innings by the Giants on Sunday.

    Advice: Montas has shown better velocity in two starts since coming back from a forearm issue, but after a strong outing last week against the Diamondbacks, he didn’t do much to impress today, even while opening up with four scoreless frames.
