• Goes deep again
Massey went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two runs scored in Monday's win over Detroit.

Advice: Massey set the tone for the 8-3 win with a solo shot in the second inning. He later doubled and scored in the sixth. Massey has gone 8-for-14 (.571) with four extra-base hits over his last four games. The recent hot streak has boosted his slash line to .284/.300/.505 with 11 extra-base hits and 19 RBI through 27 games. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Earns third save
Stratton struck out one batter over 1.1 perfect innings and earned a save over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Stratton entered the eighth innings with two outs and bases jammed. He escaped the threat and retired the side in order to preserve the win. The dangerous circumstances allowed him to earn the save despite Kansas City winning 8-3, which would explain why James McArthur wasn't used. Stratton owns a 4.95 ERA with three saves and three holds through 19 appearances. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago
  • Fired seven innings
Wacha (4-4) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings Monday, striking out three and earning a win over Detroit.

Advice: Wacha kept the Tigers off the board until Kerry Carpenter took him deep with a solo shot in the fourth inning. Colt Keith later added an RBI double in the seventh. Wacha has turned in three straight quality starts and earned a win in each one. Before this hot streak, he went 0-4 with a 7.01 ERA over a five-start span. The veteran righty is sporting a 4.45 ERA with a 47:18 K:BB through 56.2 frames. Wacha's next start is expected to be in Tampa Bay this weekend. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Nolan Schanuel hits three-run homer in Angels’ win
Nolan Schanuel went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run homer Monday as the Angels outlasted the Astros 9-7.

Advice: Schanuel’s exit velocity numbers aren’t the least bit impressive, but he’s having enough success pulling flyballs that he’s now hit five homers, even though his longest drive of the year is 381 feet. We still wouldn’t want to roster him in mixed leagues at the moment, but it bodes well for the future. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Reid Detmers tagged for six runs by Astros
Reid Detmers surrendered six runs in four innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Astros.

Advice: Victimized by a couple of infield singles, Detmers was unfortunate not to be out of the inning before José Altuve hit a three-run homer in the second. Still, this was another disappointing outing for the 24-year-old, who has given up 32 earned runs over 31 2/3 innings in his last six starts. We still believe in Detmers as a useful mixed-league option, what with his 59/19 K/BB ratio in 54 1/3 innings this season, but he certainly doesn’t make it easy. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Carlos Estévez records save after allowing run
Carlos Estévez picked up his seventh save despite giving up a run in the ninth Monday against the Astros.

Advice: Estévez gave up two hits and a walk after the outstanding fortune of Jo Adell denying Yainer Diaz a possible homer or at least a double to begin the inning. Estévez is sporting a 5.17 ERA through 15 2/3 innings this season, and he’s lucky that neither Robert Stephenson (out for the season) or José Soriano (in the rotation) is currently an alternative in the closer’s role for the Angels. • Framber Valdez gives up three fifth-inning homers
Framber Valdez was pounded for eight runs and three homers in five innings by the Angels in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Valdez allowed just one run on four groundball singles through four innings tonight, but the fifth was a vastly different story. All three homers came in that inning, and it was really pretty amazing that he got to finish the frame while allowing seven runs. Valdez had a 2.88 ERA going into the fifth tonight, only to finish the game at 4.32. It’s the first time in his career that he’s allowed three homers and the second time that he’s allowed eight runs, with the other instance also coming against the Angels in 2020. • Ryan Pressly returns from finger injury
Ryan Pressly returned to the mound Monday and worked a scoreless inning versus the Angels.

Advice: Pressly hadn’t pitched in six days because of a sore finger. He has a 5.19 ERA in his setup role this season. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Luis Rengifo swipes two bags against Astros
Luis Rengifo had two hits and two steals against the Astros on Monday.

Advice: The second steal saw him jam his left hand into second base, leaving him with an injured middle finger in spite of the oven mitt he was wearing. He was in a lot of pain at first, but he was able to finish the game afterwards. Still, if he’s not in Tuesday’s lineup, this is probably the reason. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago
