• Royals activate Adam Frazier from bereavement list
Royals activated INF Adam Frazier from the bereavement list.

Advice: Frazier is back with the club after being away from the team for three days. Nick Pratto was optioned to Triple-A Omaha as the corresponding move. Frazier is hitting .225 with two home runs in 129 at-bats with Kansas City this year. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Back from bereavement list
The Royals reinstated Frazier (personal) from the bereavement list Friday.

Advice: The 32-year-old has been away from the team for the past few days to tend to personal matters but is now back with the Royals. Frazier hasn't been operating in an everyday role but has been a solid contributor since the start of May with a .266/.329/.422 slash line in 24 games. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

  • Launches seventh homer
Pages went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Pages singled in his second at-bat before taking Michael Lorenzen deep for a solo shot in the seventh, giving the outfielder his second multi-hit performance in his last three games. He's now batting .378 in June with two homers, three RBI and eight runs scored. Pages has also walked seven times already this month after drawing just four free passes through all of May. • Two RBI, two steals in win
Langford went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Langford drove in two of the Rangers' three runs on the night with RBI singles in the first and third innings while also swiping two bags. It marked the outfielder's third game this month with two RBI and his first multi-steal effort of the campaign. Langford has now hit safely in five of his last six games, going 7-for-22 (.318) over that stretch with four RBI, three stolen bases and two runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 7:23 am
  • Needs internal brace surgery
Pereira is set to undergo a season-ending internal brace surgery on his right elbow in the coming days, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

Advice: Pereira had already been placed on Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's full-season minor-league injured list, so it comes as little surprise that he'll be in line for major surgery. The rehab from an internal brace procedure is shorter than a full Tommy John surgery, especially for position players, but Pereira still seems likely to get a late start to next season. The 23-year-old slashed .265/.346/.512 with 10 home runs and five stolen bases over 40 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

  • Strong over seven innings
Lorenzen (4-3) picked up the win over the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Lorenzen kept the Dodgers' offense at bay for most of the contest and only allowed one extra-base hit on the night, which came off the bat of Andy Pages in the seventh inning for a solo shot. However, the right-hander was able to get through seven frames for just the second time this season while logging his second win in his last three starts. It also marked the first time in Lorenzen's last eight starts that he didn't walk multiple batters. On the downside, he's now posted a 3:3 K:BB over his last two outings. • Released by Rays
The Rays released Ramirez on Thursday.

Advice: Ramirez cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and is now free to sign with another organization. He's slashed a disappointing .268/.284/.305 this season, but Ramirez carried a career .289/.329/.419 line into 2024, including a .322/.357/.445 line against left-handed pitching. The 29-year-old shouldn't have trouble landing a major-league contract. Rotowire.com Today, 6:21 am
  • Optioned to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Pratto to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Advice: While there's no corresponding move yet, it will presumably be Adam Frazier returning from the bereavement list. Pratto was up with the big club only for a few days and didn't make an appearance. Rotowire.com Today, 6:13 am

  • Serves as DH on rehab
Gonzalez (hamstring) served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.

Advice: Gonzalez made his first appearance while on a rehab assignment and played five innings. Per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe, Gonzalez is expected to start at first base Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:54 am
