  • Tosses another bullpen session
    Kershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

    Advice: This was the second bullpen session Kershaw has thrown since undergoing shoulder surgery last November. The southpaw hurled 15 pitches in his initial bullpen Friday and increased that amount to 20 pitches Tuesday. He's throwing only fastballs at this point, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that the results have been "really encouraging" so far. Kershaw could next advance to including breaking pitches in his mound work and ramping up to more pitches as he slowly works his way back to game action.   • Surrenders go-ahead homer
    McArthur (1-2) took the loss and blew the save Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk over one inning. He didn't log a strikeout.

    Advice: For a second straight appearance, McArthur took the mound in the ninth with the Royals leading and surrendered a game-altering home run. This time, Willy Adames put the Brewers up 6-5 with a three-run home run that plated William Contreras and Gary Sanchez with two outs. Despite blowing back-to-back saves, fantasy managers shouldn't panic about McArthur considering he hadn't allowed a run in nine consecutive appearances prior to the stretch.     Stephenson (elbow) had Tommy John surgery May 1, Trent Rush of Angels Radio AM 830 reports.

    Advice: Stephenson was one of the Angels' biggest signings in the offseason, but he won't play a game for the team in the first season of his three-year contract. It's quite possible that he won't be ready to pitch at the start of the 2025 campaign, but the veteran reliever should join the Angels' bullpen sometime next spring or summer.     Megill picked up the save during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals, striking out one batter over a perfect ninth inning.

    Advice: Megill had a save opportunity open up after Willy Adames gave the Brewers a one-run lead in the top of the ninth on a three-run home run and converted for his third save of the season. In each of his three save chances this season, Megill has turned in a perfect inning, and he's allowed just one run and two hits in 6.2 innings since being activated from the injured list on April 19.     Lugo didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Lugo gave up a hit and a walk in the first frame, then followed the inning up with back-to-back homers to start the second. After that, however, Lugo retired nine straight batters and kept the Brewers off the scoreboard until the seventh inning. He was seemingly set up for his sixth win of the season with the Royals up 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Willy Adames took Lugo out of contention for the W with a go-ahead three-run home run. Lugo has pitched at least six innings in seven of his eight starts and has gone into the seventh five times. He's scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Angels.     Advice: Tuesday's appearance was Rea's shortest of the campaign, failing to reach five innings pitched for the first time this year. While he kept the ball in the park, Rea tied his season high in hits allowed and yielded three extra-base hits. Rea has been hit or miss during his last four starts, allowing four or more runs twice but giving up no runs in his other two outings. He's expected to toe the rubber Monday against the Pirates.     Edward Cabrera surrendered four runs in two innings before leaving Tuesday’s game with right biceps discomfort.

    Advice: It was assumed his early exit was because of his struggles in walking four and giving up a grand slam, but the Marlins revealed the injury after the game.     Advice: Cabrera's biceps have given him problems numerous times across the past three seasons, though it's not immediately apparent how severe his latest flare-up is.     Ober didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three hits and one walk over five innings against the Mariners. He struck out seven.

    Advice: Although Ober wasn't credited with the win, he allowed three or fewer hits for the fifth time in his last six appearances. Both runs against him came in the second, when Mitch Haniger swatted a leadoff homer and Luis Urias scored from first on a Dylan Moore double. After a hideous eight-run, 1.1-inning start to kick off the regular season, Ober has been outstanding, with a 2.55 ERA and a 34:7 K:BB across 35.1 innings.
