• Seeing steady playing time
DeLuca will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, DeLuca has started in each of the Rays' ensuing six games while going 7-for-18 with three extra-base hits (one home run, one triple and one double), 10 RBI, three runs and two stolen bases. Tampa Bay is back to full strength in its outfield with Jose Siri recently returning from a two-game suspension and Josh Lowe coming off the IL on Monday, but DeLuca hasn't given any reason for manager Kevin Cash to take him out of the lineup just yet. Over the long haul, the right-handed-hitting DeLuca could settle into a short-side platoon role, but expect him to continue playing at least semi-regularly until his bat cools. • Takes seat Wednesday
Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but he's been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Lowe is on the bench. After being activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Lowe has gone 3-for-9 with a double through his first two games of the season. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Luis Arraez scores two runs in win over Cubs
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored on Wednesday, leading the Padres to a 3-0 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez wound up reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances, crossing the plate in the first and fifth innings, respectively, on run-scoring hits from teammates Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth. The 27-year-old batting title contender has a pair of multi-hit performances in five contests since arriving last week in San Diego. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Kevin Kiermaier goes 3-for-4 against Phillies
Kevin Kiermaier went 3-for-4 with two RBI on Wednesday, raising his average from .190 to .224.

Advice: The third hit, which produced an insurance run in the eighth, was a soft liner that dropped only because the infield was in to try to cut down the run at home. It’s just the third time in 21 starts this season that Kiermaier has produced multiple hits. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Davis Schneider reaches three times in Jays’ win
David Schneider went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Advice: Schneider was in the starting lineup for the ninth time in the last 10 games. That’s quite a change from the start of the year, when he played in just three of the first 10. Also, all six of his starts at second base have come since Apr. 17. None of this was part of John Schneider’s plan, but the manager hasn’t had much choice, what with Davis producing and so many others struggling. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Taking seat Wednesday
Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but he's been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Rortvedt is on the bench. Alex Jackson will fill in for Rortvedt behind the plate. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Bobby Witt Jr. homers to lead Royals past Brewers
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Wednesday, propelling the Royals to a 6-4 victory over the Brewers.

Advice: Witt reached base safely in three of his four plate appearances and wound up scoring half of Kansas City’s runs in this one. His eight-inning blast off Brewers reliever Joel Payamps was his fifth of the season and turned out to be an important insurance run as Milwaukee attempted to mount a late comeback in the ensuing frame. It was the first time he’s gone deep in nearly one month since a two-homer outburst back on April 11. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

  • Brice Turang collects three hits in Brewers’ loss
Brice Turang went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to the Royals.

Advice: Turang capped off a three-hit performance with a run-scoring double off Royals reliever Tyler Duffey in the ninth inning, but wound up being stranded in scoring position representing the potential tying run. The 24-year-old speedster has made the most of his opportunity this season, emerging as Milwaukee’s everyday second baseman, posting an .826 OPS with two homers and 14 steals through 34 contests so far. • Still experiencing thumb soreness
Yoshida is still experiencing discomfort in his left thumb and will be examined by a specialist Wednesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Yoshida could receive additional opinions, too, saying Wednesday that he's been told it's "a rare injury" he's dealing with and he's trying to determine the best way to proceed. He's been out for all of May with the injury and a timetable remains very much up in the air. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
