    Lugo didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Lugo gave up a hit and a walk in the first frame, then followed the inning up with back-to-back homers to start the second. After that, however, Lugo retired nine straight batters and kept the Brewers off the scoreboard until the seventh inning. He was seemingly set up for his sixth win of the season with the Royals up 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Willy Adames took Lugo out of contention for the W with a go-ahead three-run home run. Lugo has pitched at least six innings in seven of his eight starts and has gone into the seventh five times. He's scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Angels.     Advice: Tuesday's appearance was Rea's shortest of the campaign, failing to reach five innings pitched for the first time this year. While he kept the ball in the park, Rea tied his season high in hits allowed and yielded three extra-base hits. Rea has been hit or miss during his last four starts, allowing four or more runs twice but giving up no runs in his other two outings. He's expected to toe the rubber Monday against the Pirates.   • Edward Cabrera exits with biceps discomfort
    Edward Cabrera surrendered four runs in two innings before leaving Tuesday’s game with right biceps discomfort.

    Advice: It was assumed his early exit was because of his struggles in walking four and giving up a grand slam, but the Marlins revealed the injury after the game.     Advice: Although Ober wasn't credited with the win, he allowed three or fewer hits for the fifth time in his last six appearances. Both runs against him came in the second, when Mitch Haniger swatted a leadoff homer and Luis Urias scored from first on a Dylan Moore double. After a hideous eight-run, 1.1-inning start to kick off the regular season, Ober has been outstanding, with a 2.55 ERA and a 34:7 K:BB across 35.1 innings.     Hancock didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks with no strikeouts over four innings.

    Advice: Hancock failed to tally a single strikeout Tuesday -- generating just five swinging strikes -- and yielded all four hits and four runs in the third frame. Hancock couldn't get out of the inning despite retiring the first two batters he faced, allowing a single, walk, RBI single and three-run home run to consecutive batters. Considering Bryan Woo (elbow) just threw five innings in a rehab start and is eligible to come off the injured list Friday, Hancock may be sent to the bullpen or the minors instead of sticking around in the rotation for another start.     Imanaga didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against San Diego, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out eight.

    Advice: Imanaga allowed more than five hits for the first time this season and tied his season worst earned run total but it was hardly a disappointing start for the first-year MLB'er, who's arguably been the best starter in baseball. He blanked the Padres through seven innings but allowed an infield single to Luis Arraez then a homer to Jurickson Profar in the eighth before being pulled. Imanaga has fanned seven or more batters in three straight starts and the Cubs are 7-0 when he's on the bump. The lefty is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Tuesday in Atlanta.   • Stuck with loss in return
    Montas (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out seven.

    Advice: Montas wound up spending the minimum 15 days on the IL after he was struck by a line drive in his last start, resulting in a bruised forearm. The 31-year-old right-hander was sharp in his return, though he'd ultimately wind up with the loss as the Reds' offense couldn't break through against Zac Gallen. Montas now sports a 3.55 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB across his first six starts (25.1 innings) with Cincinnati.     Gallen (4-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Reds, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

    Advice: Gallen had gone 11 days between starts after suffering a hamstring injury on April 26 against Seattle. He certainly looked healthy Tuesday, holding Cincinnati to one hit en route to his third scoreless outing this season. It's an encouraging effort from Gallen, who'd dropped his previous two starts, allowing eight runs over 10 innings in that span. He lowered his ERA to 2.84 with a 1.13 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across seven starts (38 innings) this year. Gallen's currently in line for a road start Sunday against the Orioles in his next outing.
