    • Doubles, swipes a bag in return
Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a double, a steal, a run scored and a walk in Friday's win over Texas.

Advice: Rengifo hit second in his first game since May 6 after a brief stint on the injured list. He ripped a double in the first inning before drawing a walk, stealing second base and scoring a run in the third. The utility bat was on a 19-for-46 (.413) tear over his last 15 games before landing on the IL. Rengifo is slashing .326/.379/.463 with nine extra-base hits and 10 steals through 29 games. • Jeremy Peña hits three-run blast in win over MIL
Jeremy Peña hit a three-run homer to help the Astros to a 5-4 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Peña came up huge for the Astros with a three-run homer off Freddy Peralta that gave the Astros their 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. The shortstop has enjoyed a strong first six-plus weeks of the season, as he’s gone deep five times while slashing .326/.364/.469. This is the version of Peña fantasy managers were hoping to see in 2023. So far, so good in 2024. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Josh Hader holds former team scoreless for save
Josh Hader didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Hader gets the save against one of his former employers in Milwaukee. The southpaw has now saved six games in 2024, and he’s nearly halved his 8.38 ERA on April 19 to 4.50. The issues Hader was dealing with in the earliest portion of the campaign appear to have mostly subsided. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Dominant in first MLB win
Skenes (1-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Friday, issuing just one walk while striking out 11 over six hitless innings.

Advice: Skenes was lights out in his second big-league start -- he struck out the first seven batters faced while holding the Cubs without a baserunner until Michael Busch's one-out walk in the fifth inning. Skenes has certainly looked as-advertised to start his career -- he averaged 99.3 MPH with his fastball Friday, generating a 44-percent whiff rate with the pitch. The 21-year-old right-hander has allowed three runs through his first 10 innings while striking out 18. Skenes will look to keep rolling in his next outing, tentatively lined up as a home matchup with the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Throwing off mound
Eovaldi (groin) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Friday will mark the first time Eovaldi has thrown off a mound since being diagnosed with a right groin strain May 3. He's eligible to return from the IL on Saturday, but considering the right-hander is just now resuming mound work, he may still be a week or two from returning to Texas' rotation. A clearer timeline for his return may emerge once he progresses to facing live hitters. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm

    • Paul Skenes goes six hitless, fans 11 in first win
Paul Skenes pitched no-hit ball for six innings, striking out 11, in the Pirates’ 9-3 win over the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: Skenes was overwhelming in striking out the first seven batters he faced, and he didn’t let up much after that. He allowed only one hard-hit ball, a 107-mph groundout from Miguel Amaya. In fact, six of his seven non-strikeout outs came on grounders. It was a clear step forward from his debut last week and even a little extra impressive because it came against a lineup that had just seen him. Rotoworld Today, 2:25 pm

    • Arraez back in the lineup Friday
Arraez is back in the Padres lineup, hitting leadoff against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Arraez had a routine day off on Wednesday as the Padres faced Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber. He’s back in there as the designated hitter and leadoff man for Friday’s game. Rotoworld Today, 12:51 pm

    • Takes extra-innings loss
Alvarado (1-2) took the loss during Thursday's 11-inning 6-5 loss to the Mets, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and no walks across one inning. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado didn't take the mound until the 11th frame with the score tied 4-4 and ended up with the loss. He allowed a single to J.D. Martinez to open up the inning -- scoring designated runner Francisco Lindor -- before Harrison Bader doubled to put two runners aboard. Alvarado managed to retire the next three batters he faced; however, Martinez crossed home plate on a wild pitch to give the Mets an insurance run. Through 18.2 innings, Alvarado owns a 3.86 ERA and is 8-for-8 in save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:43 pm

    • Bryce Harper in Phillies lineup on Thursday
Bryce Harper is at first base and batting third on Thursday against the Mets.

Advice: Harper was back in Philadelphia’s lineup on Wednesday following a one-game absence due to a migraine. It doesn’t sound like a concern at all moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
