• Gets back on track
Crochet didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: After surrendering five or more runs in three straight starts, Crochet snapped out of the funk and only allowed the Twins to score on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana in the second frame. Crochet also had strong command, walking just one batter after yielding seven walks and two hit-by-pitches in his last three outings. Although Crochet has been inconsistent to kick off 2024, his strikeout stuff has been elite, boasting the second most K's in baseball. He's lined up for a Saturday start against the Cardinals. • Fans 10 in no-decision
Miller allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Monday.

Advice: Miller racked up 17 whiffs en route to a season-high 10 punchouts while mostly silencing a potent Atlanta offense. However, opposing starter Max Fried was even better with six hitless frames, and Miller actually departed in line for the loss after giving up a run in the seventh. He was taken off the hook, though, when Mitch Garver belted a walk-off homer in the ninth inning. The outing was Miller's fourth quality start over his past five appearances, and he's given up just four earned runs across 30.1 frames during that span. His 2.04 overall ERA ranks 12th among qualified MLB starters. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm

  • James Paxton gives up four runs in victory
James Paxton won Monday despite giving up four runs and walking five in five innings Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Paxton has been oddly wild this year, and his velocity has been down 1.5-2 mph from last season. He’s still at least a streaming option in mixed leagues anyway, but he’s not throwing as well as his 3-0 record and 3.51 ERA suggests, and he’ll almost certainly wind up on the IL at some point. • Another quality start
Ryan didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk across six innings against the White Sox. He struck out three.

Advice: Although Ryan tallied his lowest strikeout total of the campaign, he cashed in on his fourth quality start of his last five appearances. After yielding a pair of home runs to the White Sox in his last start, Ryan limited the team to just one extra-base hit on the day. He owns a 1.3 BB/9 through 34.2 innings in 2024, another improvement after posting a 2.9 BB/9 in 2022 and a 1.9 BB/9 in 2023. Ryan is tentatively scheduled for a start against the Sox of Boston on Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm

  • Griffin Canning gives up four runs to Phillies
Griffin Canning yielded four runs and five walks in five innings Monday against the Phillies.

Advice: Canning managed just one strikeout and four missed swings tonight. There still might be some hope for him if he recovers the two mph he’s lost since last season, but he’s not a very good bet at the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm
  • Inefficient against KC
Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: Rodriguez struggled to get quick outs, getting pulled after 82 pitches without completing four innings. While he's yet to go deeper than four frames this season, Rodriguez owns a 4.11 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP on the year. If Alek Manoah (shoulder) isn't ready to rejoin the rotation, Rodriguez should slot into another start Sunday at Washington. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:11 pm
  • Confirmed for Wednesday's start
Gallen (hamstring) will make his regularly scheduled start Wednesday against the Dodgers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallen's bullpen session earlier in the day went well, and skipper Torey Lovullo confirmed late Monday evening that the right-hander will indeed take the mound Wednesday after exiting his previous outing Friday due to hamstring spasms. Gallen owns a 3.38 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with a 35:9 K:BB across 32 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm

  • Excellent in no-decision
Taillon didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 7.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: Taillon was able to complete six innings for the first time this season and managed to exceed seven innings in just 78 pitches. Taillon's lone blemish came from the first batter he faced as Brandon Nimmo clubbed a solo home run in the first frame. The veteran righty has yet to yield multiple earned runs through three starts, owning an impressive 1.50 ERA. However, he's only been able to punch out nine batters in his 18.0 innings of work. Taillon is set to close out a two-start week with a matchup against the Brewers on Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:50 pm
  • Shuts down Cubs
Severino didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over eight innings against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Advice: Severino was locked into a pitchers duel with Jameson Taillon, as the pair of starters each went deeper than seven innings while allowing just one run. Individually, Severino took a no-hitter into the eighth. However, Severino's efforts were for naught as Edwin Diaz surrendered a pair of runs in the ninth inning, leading to the Cubs' win. After posting a career-worst 6.65 ERA across 89.1 innings in 2023, Severino boasts a 2.31 ERA through 35.0 innings in his first season with the Metropolitans. He's lined up to face the Rays on Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:39 pm
