    • Sharp in Friday's no-decision
Berrios came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Pirates, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander pounded the zone in his fourth straight quality start and 10th in 12 trips to the mound this season, firing 69 of 101 pitches for strikes. Berrios is tracking toward a career year, and he'll take a 2.78 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 58:18 K:BB through 74.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Orioles. • Triples, drives in four
Marte went 2-for-4 with a triple, four RBI, a run scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Marte ripped a bases-clearing triple in the first inning and followed it up with an RBI single in the fourth. After a 3-for-19 slump over nine games, he closed out May with three straight multi-hit performances. Marte boosted his slash line to .271/.321/.407 with nine steals, 23 RBI and 28 runs scored through 216 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:58 am

    • Pablo López strong for seven in beating Astros
Pablo López pitched seven innings of one-run ball Friday as the Twins downed the Astros 6-1.

Advice: López generated 17 missed swings tonight, 12 of them with his fastball. His peripherals would suggest that he’s had pretty awful luck this season, but he was in close to peak form tonight. The one run he allowed came on an Alex Bregman 348-foot homer that Statcast said was only a homer in four ballparks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:40 pm

    • Two thefts in loss
Neto went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Neto singled and then stole second and third in the seventh inning, but he wasn't brought home. The shortstop had gone 16 games without a stolen base, though he hit a respectable .264 (14-for-53) with seven extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Neto is slashing .254/.305/.413 with eight steals, six home runs, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and 12 doubles over 203 plate appearances in a starting role. • Goes deep again
Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Arenado has homered in each of his last two games. The third baseman's power numbers are still way down -- he's at five homers and a .379 slugging percentage through 53 contests -- but this could be a sign of him heating up. On the year, he's batting .257 with 26 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases over 226 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:03 pm

    • Returns to form in win
Lopez (5-5) earned the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over Houston, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Lopez appeared to be in the form that led him to a seventh place finish in the 2023 AL Cy Young race. The Minnesota right-hander generated an impressive 17 whiffs en route to his six punchouts while lowering his season ERA to 4.84 in 67 innings. The lone blemish on his evening was the 348-foot solo shot Alex Bregman hit into Houston's Crawford Boxes in the fourth inning. Lopez faces a difficult test in his next start -- lining up to face a formidable Yankees lineup in New York next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm

    • Fans seven in win
Bibee (4-1) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over 6.1 innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Bibee dominated in six shutout frames before Washington finally pushed home a run in the seventh. He's turned in three straight quality starts, dropping his season ERA from 4.34 to 3.74 during that span. The 25-year-old righty has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his first 12 starts. He'll carry a 6:18 K:BB into his next start, which is expected to be at home against the Royals next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:27 pm
    • Nick Gonzales with two more hits
Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Gonzales has been a welcome surprise so far this season slashing .319/.377/.536 across 19 games. His nearly 17% barrel rate would be one of the best in the league if he were a qualified hitter and he should remain a regular for the offensively starved Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:07 pm

    • José Berríos allows one earned run in no-decision
José Berríos struck out five Pirates across seven innings on Friday in a no-decision. He allowed six hits and didn’t walk a batter.

Advice: Berríos leaned into his trusted slurve in this one and kept the Pirates off-balance all night. He’s allowed more than three earned runs in just one start this season while completing at least six innings 10 times in 12 starts. That’s as steady as they come. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:05 pm
