• Out again Monday
Sano (knee) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Phillies.

Advice: It's the third straight game Sano has been on the bench due to a left knee issue which has plagued him for the better part of a week. Cole Tucker is at designated hitter and Brandon Drury and Ehire Adrianza will handle the corner infield spots for the Angels on Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 2:57 pm

  • Nolan Schanuel not starting Monday vs. Phillies
Nolan Schanuel is not in the starting lineup Monday against the Phillies.

Advice: Schanuel will take a seat against southpaw Cristopher Sánchez on Monday. Cole Tucker is the designated hitter and hitting seventh, and Brandon Drury will get a start at first base. Rotoworld Today, 2:55 pm

  • Scratched with back tightness
Perez was scratched from Monday's lineup versus the Blue Jays due to back tightness, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Perez had been slated to catch and bat cleanup, but now Freddy Fermin will be behind the plate and Nelson Velazquez will move up to the cleanup spot. Consider Perez day-to-day. Rotowire.com Today, 2:32 pm

  • Royals scratch Salvador Perez with back tightness
Salvador Perez was scratched from Monday’s lineup due to back tightness.

Advice: Perez has been off to an excellent start while leading baseball with 26 RBI and posting an OPS of .990, but he’ll miss at least one game while dealing with the back issue. He should be considered day-to-day at this point, but testing on the 33-year-old is likely. Rotoworld Today, 2:28 pm

  • Ryan Noda out against lefty vs. Pirates
Ryan Noda is not in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: Noda went hitless over the week, and saw his average fall to .143 with an 0-for-4 game against the Orioles on Monday. Abraham Toro is hitting fourth and playing first base while Noda retreats to the bench. Rotoworld Today, 2:25 pm

  • Sitting against lefty
Kirilloff is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Kirilloff will join fellow lefty-hitting regulars Edouard Julien, Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach on the bench as the Twins roll out a righty-heavy lineup to counter White Sox southpaw Garrett Crochet. The Twins have gone out of their way to shield Kirilloff against left-handed pitching this season; only seven of his 89 plate appearances have come versus southpaws. • Alec Burleson starting at 1B for Cardinals
Alec Burleson is starting at first base and hitting sixth for the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Paul Goldschmidt is in the lineup as the DH on Monday, but it’s the first time Goldschmidt has done anything but play 1B this year. As a result, it seems as though Burleson is the team’s backup first baseman, which gives him added value for his ability to move around the field. The 25-year-old is hitting .263/.323/.351 on the team with one home run and five RBI in 62 plate appearances. With Goldschmidt struggling, perhaps Burleson could earn a few more chances in the near future. Rotoworld Today, 11:56 am

  • Sent back to minors
The Astros returned Cabbage to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Cabbage served as the Astros' 27th man for the club's two-game series in Mexico City versus the Rockies over the weekend, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI while starting in left field in Saturday's 12-4 win before heading to the bench for Sunday's 8-2 win. The 26-year-old should get the chance to play on an everyday basis as he heads back to Sugar Land. Rotowire.com Today, 11:16 am

  • Likely headed to IL
The Rockies are expected to place Jones (back) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Zahlmann notes that outfield prospect Jordan Beck is on track to receive a call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque, and given that he suffered a setback with his lingering back injury in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Astros, Jones is an obvious candidate to come off the 26-man active roster in a corresponding move. Jones has been removed from games twice within the past week due to back stiffness, so it makes sense for the Rockies to get out in front of the issue and put him on the shelf for at least the next week and a half so he can rest up and recover. After a breakout 20-20 campaign with the Rockies in 2023, Jones has struggled mightily over the first month of the 2024 season, slashing just .170/.243/.277 while contributing one home run and two stolen bases over 103 plate appearances.
