• Jarren Duran reaches three times in win Wednesday
Jarren Duran smacked an RBI triple, scored a run and drew a pair of walks as the Red Sox triumphed over the Giants on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.

Advice: Duran worked a walk off of Daulton Jefferies in the third inning and came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI ground out off the bat of Rob Refsnyder. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI triple that chased Jefferies in the fourth inning. He has done a nice job atop the Red Sox’ lineup to begin the season, slashing .269/.347/.400 with one homer, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:09 pm

  • Dane Myers drives in two as Marlins top Rockies
Dane Myers delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single in the eighth inning on Wednesday, helping to lead the Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Rockies.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder came on to bat for Christian Bethancourt with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning. He responded by lining a 1-1 offering from Nick Mears into right field for a two-run single to provide the Marlins with a pair of valuable insurance runs. He’s now 4-for-8 (.500) with a pair of runs scored and five RBI since being recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:34 pm

  • Angels release veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks
    Angels released OF Aaron Hicks.

Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed and was granted his outright release. He’s now free to latch on elsewhere if any teams are in the market for a switch-hitting outfielder that was batting .140/.222/.193 during his time with the Halos. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:41 pm

  • Has big game Wednesday
Vierling went 2-for-3 with a home run, an additional run scored and three total RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Vierling connected for a two-run shot in the third inning, his third home run of the season, then drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The 27-year-old has been seeing regular time at third base with Gio Urshela (hamstring) out, and Vierling has responded with a solid .282 average and .758 OPS, giving him decent short-term fantasy value. • Ends up on injured list
The Astros placed McCormick on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to right hamstring discomfort, retroactive to Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that the Astros were debating placing McCormick on the injured list, and the team ultimately decided sitting him down for another week is the best course of action. The 29-year-old outfielder likely won't require more than a minimum stay on the IL, so he may be able to return to the lineup when eligible May 8. Jacob Amaya was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:33 pm

Astros placed OF Chas McCormick on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 28, with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Astros’ manager Joe Espada had mentioned earlier in the day that McCormick may need a stint on the injured list, and after attempting to go through a pregame workout on Wednesday the determination was made. Jacob Amaya was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:19 pm

  • Jo Adell strikes out four times Wednesday in loss
Jo Adell went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts on Wednesday in the Angels’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: So much for the whole cutting back on strikeouts storyline. Adell appears to have made some legitimate strides in the plate skills department early on this season, but he looked a bit overwhelmed in this one as he fanned twice in three at-bats against Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before tacking on a pair of additional punch outs later in the contest. He’s been on a tear the last two weeks with three homers and two steals in 12 contests since April 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm

  • Jackson Merrill goes hitless Wednesday in victory
Jackson Merrill went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Wednesday in the Padres’ win over the Reds.

Advice: Don’t look now, but Merrill has gone 0-for-19 in six contests over the last week. The 21-year-old top prospect looked extremely impressive at the outset of the season in his Padres debut, but has hit a frosty stretch at the dish of late, which also coincides with a nagging groin issue that he’s been playing through. It’s entirely possible he’s not close to 100 percent at the moment, which is impacting his on-field results. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm
  • Takes seat against lefty
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rosario once again finds himself on the bench for the third time in four games while the Nationals face another left-handed starting pitcher (Andrew Heaney). Platoon mate Alex Call gets the start in right field while Rosario takes a seat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm
