      Corbin Burnes picked up his fifth victory of the season on Wednesday night, limiting the Red Sox to just one unearned run on three hits over seven strong frames.

      Advice: Burnes racked up five strikeouts on the night while issuing two free passes. The lone tally against him came via a one-out single, throwing error, errant pickoff throw and ground ball combination in the second inning. The 29-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 108 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent.       Stone (5-2) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets, scattering three hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

      Advice: The 25-year-old righty delivered his best performance of the season, firing 63 of 87 pitches for strikes in his sixth quality start of the year. Stone's seven Ks were a season high, and he'll take a 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:17 K:BB through 57 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Rockies.       Gavin Stone recorded seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Mets.

      Advice: Stone drew the starting assignment for the nightcap of Tuesday’s twin bill at Citi Field and authored one of his best outings of the year. He scattered three hits, didn’t hand out a free pass, and established a new season-high mark with seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts this season and will bring a respectable 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41/17 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (10 starts) into a road matchup next Wednesday against the Pirates.       Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Merrill Kelly (shoulder) will start a throwing program next week.

      Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Kelly (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program next week, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

      Advice: The right-hander has apparently been progressing well in his recovery from a right shoulder strain and is now on the cusp of resuming baseball work. Kelly will require some time to build his arm up before progressing to mound work and eventually a rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks until sometime in July.       Kodai Senga (shoulder) played catch on the field prior to the doubleheader against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

      Advice: It’s the first time that Senga has been able to play catch since he was shut down with inflammation in his triceps. The right-hander has been on the 60-day injured list since the start of the season because of shoulder issues, and the expectation now is that Senga won’t be able to return for the Mets — and fantasy players — until around the All-Star break.       Senga (shoulder) may not be ready to return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The right-hander has had a couple delays and setbacks during his recovery from a posterior right capsule strain. After getting a cortisone injection late last week, Senga played catch on flat ground for the first time Tuesday, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Still, the 31-year-old is essentially back to square one with his throwing program. Given that Senga will likely need about six weeks to ramp back up and get game ready, a mid-July return would seem to be the best-case scenario.       Steele did not factor into the decision Monday against Milwaukee, allowing three hits and one walk over seven shutout innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Steele posted his best start since returning from a hamstring injury May 6, generating 13 whiffs in 93 total pitches. The Cubs lefty limited a ferocious Brewers offense that entered with the fourth-best team wRC+ at 115, allowing Milwaukee to scatter only four singles.       Justin Steele threw seven shutout innings and got a no-decision against the Brewers on Monday.



      Advice: Steele allowed three hits, a walk and struck out eight. He looked like the pitcher we saw last year who had a 3.06 ERA and 176 strikeouts. Steele lowered his ERA to 4.45, but there should still be room for growth as his xFIP is 3.71. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Reds on the road this weekend.
