      Munoz walked one and struck out three in a scoreless and hitless eighth inning to earn a hold in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Munoz has been dealing with a back issue for most of June, but he's still seen high-leverage work when available. In fact, Munoz was deployed in the eighth inning Friday to face the top of the Rangers' lineup, while Ryne Stanek got the call in the ninth and earned the save. Munoz has picked up three holds and a loss over his last four outings, but it seems this is less about easing the right-hander back from injury and more about a matchups-based approach to the late innings for now. Should Seattle switch to a closer committee, it appears Stanek is set to pick up a larger share of the saves.       Stone allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Royals on Friday.

      Advice: Stone's three-start winning streak was snapped, but he picked up his first quality start over three outings in June. The right-hander has been steady this year -- this was just the fourth time in 13 starts he's given up three runs. He's now at a 3.01 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 56:23 K:BB over 74.2 innings.     • Gavin Stone surrenders three over seven vs. KC
      Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision Saturday against the Royals after allowing three runs over seven innings with three strikeouts.

      Advice: Stone allowed four hits and walked two while throwing 61-of-94 pitches in the strike zone. The 25-year-old allowed all three runs on a long roundtripper by Salvador Perez. Minus that gaffe, it was another solid start for Stone against a pretty tough Kansas City lineup. He’s currently scheduled to face the Rockies on Thursday in Colorado.       Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's win over Tampa Bay.

      Advice: Riley hit an RBI double in the first inning before hammering a two-run homer in the second. It was just his fourth homer of the year and first since May 3, snapping a 23-game drought.       Austin Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

    • Marcell Ozuna crushes 19th home run in win
      Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, walk, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

      Advice: Ozuna got the Braves going early, taking Zack Littell deep to the opposite field in the first inning and Atlanta wouldn’t look back.       Gore (6-5) earned the win Friday over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Gore was excellent Friday, holding Miami to a lone second-inning run en route to his fourth win in his last five starts. It's the third double-digit strikeout outing for Gore this year as he lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 91:23 K:BB through 14 starts (75 innings) this season.     • MacKenzie Gore strikes out 10 in seven innings
      MacKenzie Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win on Friday night. He allowed just one earned run and walked one batter. He earned the win.

      Advice: Gore was downright dazzling in this one. He challenged the Marlins again and again with his fastball high in the zone and they swung and missed at it 12 times in 35 tries. His heater is special sitting 96 MPH from the left side with tons of ride. He’s put an emphasis on throwing it up in the zone this season and that has helped him reach new heights. This was his third start so far with double-digit punch outs and he’s allowed more than three earned runs just once. His breakout is indisputable at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:13 pm
       
    • Struggles continue Thursday
      Riley went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

      Advice: The third baseman's been dropped down to fifth in the order, even with lefty-hander Cole Irvin on the mound for Baltimore on Thursday, but it hasn't helped wake up Riley's bat. His last homer came May 3, and in 16 games since he returned from an intercostal strain he's slashing just .161/.212/.194 with two RBI and a 4:17 BB:K. Riley's track record says he will heat up at some point this summer, and his Statcast profile suggests there's a great deal of bad luck contributing to his numbers this season -- he's in the 91st percentile in max exit velocity, 90th percentile in bat speed and 82nd percentile in hard-hit rate.
