    • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
      James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight. Schrieber still has a big ERA lead on McArthur (3.00 to 5.32) and McArthur is up to four blown saves, so a change might be considered. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
       
    • Josh Hader fans two in non-save situation vs. M’s
      Josh Hader struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Hader got the call to protect a four-run advantage in a non-save situation and made things interesting by giving up singles to Julio Rodríguez and Ty France before striking out Dominic Canzone and getting Mitch Haniger to ground out to extinguish the threat. The 30-year-old lefty has allowed just two runs with a 20/4 K/BB ratio across 11 appearances since the start of May. Simply put, he remains one of the few elite closers in the fantasy landscape.     • Avoids IL, but could need time off
      Megill (elbow) could be unavailable to pitch for a few days, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. While X-rays came back negative and he has avoided the injured list for the time being, Megill might need a little time for the elbow to calm down.       The Brewers aren’t currently planning to put Trevor Megill on the IL after he was hit in the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday’s game.

      Yates allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: This was Yates' first save since May 8, as opportunities have been few and far between for saves recently. He pitched four times between saves, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over three innings.       Manager Pat Murphy said after Tuesday's loss to the Cubs that Megill did not suffer a fracture on the line drive that hit his arm in the 10th inning, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

      Advice: It remains unclear whether or not Megill will need to spend time on the injured list, but the 30-year-old reliever seems to have avoided the worst. The righty has been operating as Milwaukee's primary closer with Devin Williams (back) on the injured list, though the ninth inning may be given to Hoby Milner or Joel Payamps if Megill is forced to miss time.       Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters late Tuesday that Trevor Megill didn’t suffer a fracture when he was hit on the right elbow by a line-drive.

      Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging update at Megill appears to have avoided serious injury after being struck directly on the right elbow by a 99-mph line-drive during Tuesday’s extra-inning showdown against the Cubs. The 30-year-old stopper is presumably day-to-day for the moment with a contusion, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he wound up requiring a trip to the injured list, just to bring in a fresh arm.     • Kirby Yates earns eighth save vs. D-Backs
      Kirby Yates earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Yates had to tightrope out of danger to earn the save in this one. The righty allowed a two-out walk to Eugenio Suárez only to see a single by Gabriel Moreno move Suárez into scoring position. Fortunately for Yates, a strikeout of Kevin Newman would end the game and secure the win for the Rangers, who have now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous six.       Megill was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit in the right arm by a line drive, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Megill entered Tuesday's game in the 10th inning and threw three pitches to Mike Tauchman before getting taking a 99-mph line drive off his right (throwing) arm. Megill immediately came out of the game and will presumably head into the clubhouse for imaging. The Brewers should have more information on his status following Tuesday's contest.
