• Max Kepler homers, delivers walk-off win on Friday
Max Kepler went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI on Friday night, propelling the Twins to a walk-off 6-5 victory over the Athletics in 10 innings.

Advice: Kepler broke out of his recent funk in a major way in the sixth inning on Friday, crushing a game-tying 426-foot (105.6 mph EV) three-run shot off of Mitch Spence that evened things up at 4-4. He then came through with a walk-off RBI single off of Scott Alexander in the 10th inning that sent the Twins’ home faithful into a frenzy. With his three-hit effort, the 31-year-old outfielder is now slashing .263/.326/.433 with five homers and 27 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:45 pm

  • Johan Duran secures victory against Athletics
Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics. On the season, he now boasts a 3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 17/8 K/BB ratio (19 2/3 innings) to go along with a pair of victories and 10 saves in 10 opportunities. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:44 pm

  • Simeon Woods Richardson gives up grand slam Friday
Simeon Woods Richardson struggled in a no-decision against the Athletics on Friday night, giving up four runs on four hits over his four innings of work.

Advice: The 23-year-old hurler also issued four free passes on the night while striking out four batters. All of the damage done against him came in the opening inning as Woods Richardson loaded the bases on a pair of walks and an infield single, then Shea Langeliers crushed a two-out grand slam. He settled in after that to keep the A’s off the board over his final three frames, but the damage had been done. He got seven whiffs on 80 pitches on the night, posting a minuscule CSW of 20 percent. He’ll carry a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 46/15 K/BB ratio (54 2/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Rays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:44 pm
  • Mitch Spence gives up four runs in no-decision
Mitch Spence wasn’t at his best in a no-decision against the Twins on Friday night, surrendering four runs on nine hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Spence punched out three batters on the evening while issuing one base on balls. He had allowed just a second-inning RBI triple to Byron Buxton until Max Kepler uncorked a game-tying three-run shot in the sixth inning. Spence got eight swings and misses on 83 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of only 22 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he totes a 3.95 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 43/14 K/BB ratio (57 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Royals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:44 pm

  • Exits with concussion-like symptoms
Davis was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after exhibiting concussion-like symptoms.

Advice: It's unclear when exactly Davis might have suffered the injury, but he was replaced behind the dish by Yasmani Grandal ahead of the seventh inning. Davis is in the process of being evaluated by the Pirates' medical staff, and an update on his status should come in the near future. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:14 pm

  • Back in lineup
Suarez started at third base and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Angels. He was also hit by a pitch.

Advice: Suarez returned to the lineup after being replaced at the hot corner by Blaze Alexander the previous day. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Alexander will be given more opportunities at third with Suarez (.195/.267/.309) mired in a season-long slump. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:59 am
  • Alek Thomas (hamstring) starts rehab assignment
Alek Thomas (hamstring) started a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Thomas has been out since early April due to a left hamstring strain and an early-May setback that delayed his return even further. There’s a strong possibility he’s back before the end of June. Rotoworld Thursday, 4:37 pm

  • Brett Baty plays second base in Triple-A
The Mets have Brett Baty making his first professional start at second base in Triple-A on Thursday.

Advice: Baty took some reps as a middle infielder last month after the move to release Joey Wendle left him as the closest thing the Mets had to a backup at second and short. Since Baty joined the Mets on their London trip, he’s played in just four minor league games since getting demoted May 31, though he’s gone 8-for-19 with three homers. It seems quite unlikely that the Mets will ever want to make the switch from Jeff McNeil to Baty at second base, but it’d be nice if Baty could open up the possibility. • Belts first homer
Davis went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Wednesday in a 4-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Davis gave Pittsburgh its second run of the contest with a solo shot to center field in the eighth inning. The long ball was his first in what has been a very disappointing season, as he's slashing a meager .157/.273/.241 through 99 plate appearances. With Joey Bart (thumb) on the injured list, Davis has been splitting time behind the plate with veteran Yasmani Grandal. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:09 pm
