    Advice: Polanco will take a seat for the second day in a row while he manages a tight right hamstring. The Mariners are viewing him as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured could become more realistic if Polanco is still not available to start coming out of Thursday's team off day.   • Records steal in win
    Freeman went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two hit-by-pitches, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rangers.

    Advice: That's a hard way to get on base four times, but it worked well to set the table for the Guardians. Freeman is still not hitting all that well -- he's batting .167 over 12 games in May, dropping his season average to .193 through 37 contests. He's made up for it with a passable .307 on-base percentage and 9.2 percent walk rate. The 24-year-old has added five steals, four home runs, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored and six doubles through 141 plate appearances.     Brewers optioned INF Oliver Dunn to Triple-A Nashville.

    Advice: Dunn got some time as the Brewers’ leadoff man last month, but he wound up hitting a modest .226/.278/.333 in 90 plate appearances during his first stint in the majors.   • Mets officially call up Mark Vientos
    Mets recalled 3B Mark Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse.

    Advice: The Mets probably should have swapped Brett Baty out here and given Vientos a real chance at third base. Instead, those two apparently will split time for now. Vientos went 3-for-7 with a homer in his earlier stint with the Mets this season. He was hitting .284/.376/.500 with six homers in 133 plate appearances for Norfolk.     The Brewers optioned Dunn to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

    Advice: Though he served as Milwaukee's designated hitter in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Pirates, Dunn's playing time had been relatively sparse since mid-April with Joey Ortiz overtaking him as the preferred option at third base. As a left-handed hitter, Dunn wasn't a fit for the Brewers as a short-side platoon player, either, so he'll head to Nashville to get some everyday playing time.
