• Recalled to Milwaukee
The Brewers recalled Black from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Black played in seven games for the Brewers earlier in the season but was sent back to Nashville on May 8 after going just 5-for-22 (.227) at the plate. Since returning to Triple-A, the 23-year-old infielder has slashed .255/.354/.473 with five homers, 23 RBI and eight stolen bases. He doesn't have a clear path to playing time with Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz comfortably locked into everyday roles at first and third base, respectively, but Black's speed makes him a viable pinch runner, and he may be used occasionally against right-handers to give one of the usual starters a day off. Oliver Dunn was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm

  • Moving back to bench Wednesday
Goodman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Goodman started each of the last four games -- two at designated hitter, two at catcher -- and went 6-for-17 with three home runs and one double, but he hasn't quite seized hold of an everyday role just yet. Jacob Stallings remains the Rockies' No. 1 catcher while Elias Diaz (calf) is on the shelf, and Charlie Blackmon and Elehuris Montero are also expected to factor into the mix at DH until Kris Bryant (oblique) returns from the injured list. Goodman may need to turn in a few more quality performances at the plate in his subsequent starts before the Rockies make him a fixture in the lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm

  • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Yankees transferred Rizzo (forearm) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: The veteran first baseman is expected to be sidelined eight weeks after he landed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured right forearm, so the move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as a major surprise. Rizzo will be shut down from baseball activities for up to five weeks. Gerrit Cole (elbow) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding transaction and is making his season debut Wednesday against the Orioles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:23 pm

  • Yankees transfer Anthony Rizzo to 60-day IL
Yankees transferred 1B Anthony Rizzo to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The Yankees needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the return of Gerrit Cole on Wednesday, and the easiest move was to shift Rizzo to the 60-day IL. The 34-year-old is dealing with a right forearm fracture and is expected to be sidelined for the next two months. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:18 pm

  • Sitting second straight
Toro isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Although Toro has slashed .309/.338/.456 against left-handed pitchers this season, the Athletics will give Tyler Nevin another start at third base versus southpaw Cole Ragans. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:48 pm

  • Drawing fifth straight start
Schneemann will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Schneemann will make his fifth straight start and will occupy his third different position over that span. The utility player has already been used at six different positions since being called up at the beginning of the month and is maintaining a 1.115 OPS over his first 33 big-league plate appearances. • Provides offense in win
Espinal started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Pittsburgh.

Advice: Espinal provided all the offense needed with a two-run homer in the fifth inning. He was making his first start in seven games and has just 18 at-bats this month; however, he could see action in the immediate future. Jeimer Candelario, who started at first base, was removed from Tuesday's contest due to tendinitis. Candelario has been the team's primary third baseman and may be held out of Wednesday's series finale in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:42 am

  • Fills box score Tuesday
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, one stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Gelof took Alec Marsh deep in the fourth inning to provide the Athletics with enough offense to weather the Royals' comeback attempt. This was Gelof's third multi-hit effort in his last seven games, though the homer was his first since June 5. The second baseman is starting to put together better at-bats, but he's still at a .195/.250/.335 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 54 contests this season. • Zack Gelof hits three-run homer, steals base
Zack Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a steal as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Gelof is pretty much impossible to use in shallow leagues while batting at the bottom of Oakland’s order, but one modest hot streak should be enough to put him back into the top third of the lineup. He’s at .195/.250/.335 right now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:54 pm
