• Dealing with hamstring injury
Friedl suffered a hamstring injury and exited Monday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates in the bottom of the fifth inning, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Friedl made a diving catch in center field, robbing Nick Gonzales of an extra-base hit in the bottom of the fifth, injuring his hamstring in the process. Manager David Bell said that Friedl had a full range of motion and strength, stating that the hamstring was "just tight." The outfielder's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Pittsburgh, but it appears as if Friedl avoided a significant injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 pm
  • Report: A’s set to call up Lawrence Butler
The A’s are set to recall Lawrence Butler from Triple-A Las Vegas, according to MLB.com’s Martín Gallegos.

Advice: It’ll be interesting to see what the countermove is here. Unless someone is hurt, perhaps the A’s are ready to give up on Seth Brown or JD Davis. Dropping Daz Cameron seems like the other alternative. Butler has hit .255/.349/.418 since his demotion in May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:58 pm
  • Mike Tauchman leaves due to left groin tightness
Mike Tauchman exited Monday’s game due to left groin tightness, according to the Cubs.

Advice: Everything is “tightness” now, so there’s no telling from the statement whether this is a day-to-day thing or a likely IL stint. Still, we’d lean towards the latter. Pete Crow-Armstrong would be the big beneficiary if Tauchman is forced to miss some time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:22 pm

  • Tweaks groin Monday
Tauchman (groin) left Monday's contest with the Giants in the bottom of the third inning with left groin tightness, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Tauchman hustled down the line to beat out an infield single in the bottom of the third, tweaking his left groin in the process. The 33-year-old will likely undergo imaging Monday night to determine the severity of the injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:19 pm

  • Leaves early Monday
Tauchman (undisclosed) exited Monday's contest with the Giants in the bottom of the third inning, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tauchman pulled up lame after legging out a two-out infield single in the bottom of the third, leaving the game after going 1-for-1 with a walk in the contest. He appeared to be grabbing at his left leg, but an exact diagnosis will likely come before the end of Monday's contest. In the meantime, Patrick Wisdom replaced Tauchman in the Cubs' lineup at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:59 pm

  • Mike Tauchman leaves game with leg injury
Mike Tauchman left Monday’s game in the third inning with an apparent left leg injury.

Advice: Patrick Wisdom pinch-ran after Tauchman was hurt beating out an infield single. A Tauchman IL trip might give Pete Crow-Armstrong mixed-league value for a time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:58 pm

  • Back on bench Monday
Cave is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Cave had started in 11 of the Rockies' last 12 games, but he'll head to the bench with Nolan Jones having returned from the injured list and with Brenton Doyle (knee) back in the lineup after a two-game absence. Though Cave has turned in a serviceable .250/.341/.389 slash line thus far in June, he could be relegated to a bench role now that Colorado has reclaimed some health in the outfield. • LaMonte Wade (hamstring) doubtful for Thursday
LaMonte Wade Jr. probably isn’t going to be able to make it back into the Giants lineup for the Rickwood game in Alabama on Thursday.

Advice: Wade has been aiming to play in the contest, but his strained left hamstring isn’t quite ready yet. The Giants have been getting by with Wilmer Flores and Trenton Brooks at first base. Brooks will most likely be demoted once Wade is ready. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:32 pm

  • Starting rehab assignment
Bouchard (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Bouchard is less than two weeks removed from suffering a right ankle sprain but is ready to test things out in a game setting. He is eligible for activation at any time, but the Rockies could keep him at Albuquerque rather than retuning him to the major-league roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:19 pm
