• Expected to throw off mound soon
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Williams (back) is expected to be cleared to throw off a mound soon, Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic reports.

Advice: Murphy also added that Williams remains on track to return just after the All-Star break, although that would seem to be a tentative timetable given that the reliever has yet to resume throwing off a mound. Williams is working his way back from multiple stress fractures in his back. Trevor Megill has operated as the Brewers' primary closer with Williams on the shelf. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Alexis Díaz allows four to reach in earning save
Alexis Díaz recorded his 15th save despite allowing two runs — one earned — in the ninth Friday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Díaz survived yet again after allowing three hits and walking a batter in a sloppy ninth inning. He’ll probably be available Saturday, but if not, the save chance could go to Lucas Sims or Fernando Cruz. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:24 pm
  • Escapes with save
Diaz allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk Friday while earning a save over Milwaukee.

Advice: Diaz was tasked with holding the 6-3 lead in the ninth inning Friday and ran into some trouble. He walked in a run after an error loaded the bases and allowed what would've been the game-tying hit if not for Will Benson throwing out Jake Bauers at home. Diaz has converted eight straight saves and 15 of his 17 chances this season. Despite his relative success in those situations, his ERA is up to 5.47 with a lackluster 27:19 K:BB through 26.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:14 pm
  • Strong over seven innings
Lorenzen (4-3) picked up the win over the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Lorenzen kept the Dodgers' offense at bay for most of the contest and allowed only one extra-base hit on the night, a solo shot off the bat of Andy Pages in the seventh inning. The right-hander was able to get through seven frames for just the second time this season while logging his second win in his last three starts. It also marked the first time in Lorenzen's last eight starts that he didn't walk multiple batters. On the downside, he's posted just a 3:3 K:BB over his last two outings. • Secures win Thursday
McArthur (3-3) allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the win over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: McArthur rebounded from his previous outing, which saw him take the loss versus the Mariners on Sunday after allowing three runs (two earned) in two-thirds of an inning. He's kept runs off the board in four of his five outings in June, but he has just one save this month. For the year, he's at a 5.08 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB over 28.1 innings while converting 12 of his 16 save opportunities as the Royals' primary closer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:09 am
  • Michael Lorenzen limits Dodgers to one over seven
Michael Lorenzen held the Dodgers to just a run while firing seven innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Lorenzen allowed just a solo homer to Andy Pages. The right-handed hurler wasn’t dominant with just two strikeouts, but he wasn’t challenged often while allowing four hits with one walk. Lorenzen has mostly been solid when available for the Rangers, and this outing lowers his ERA to 2.86. He gets the Mets on Tuesday, if Texas doesn’t make adjustments to the rotation. • Earns 14th save
Diaz earned a save against Cleveland on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Diaz needed just 13 pitches to retire the Guardians in order. Since May 21, Diaz is 7-for-7 in save chances with only two runs allowed over 10 appearances. On the season, Diaz is 14-for-16 in save chances with a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB in 25.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:06 pm
  • Holds on for 10th save
Neris earned a save against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts.

Advice: Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Neris surrendered a solo home run to Jose Caballero and then allowed a single and a walk before retiring Yandy Diaz and Brandon Lowe to escape with the save. This wasn't the most encouraging outing after Neris yielded four runs in a blown save Tuesday night, but manager Craig Counsell showed his faith in Neris as the team's closer by relying on him again Wednesday. On the season, Neris is 10-for-13 in save chances with a 4.21 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 24:19 K:BB across 25.2 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:39 pm

  • Héctor Neris gives up homer, earns save anyway
Héctor Neris picked up his 10th save despite giving up a solo homer in the ninth Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: The Cubs got Neris right back in there after he gave up four runs in taking a blown save and a loss Tuesday, and he got the job done, though not before allowing a homer for the second straight night. He’s 10-for-13 saving games in spite of his 4.21 ERA and ugly 24/19 K/BB ratio. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:14 pm
