    Advice: With Marco Luciano (hamstring) landing on the injured list Friday, Schmitt has a chance to make shortstop his own in June. This was Schmitt's second game in a row in the lineup -- he started versus right-hander Cody Poteet on Saturday and stayed in the starting nine versus southpaw Nestor Cortes on Sunday. Through eight games this season, Schmitt has two homers, five RBI and two runs scored over 30 plate appearances. Brett Wisely has also been an option at shortstop lately, and both Schmitt and Wisely offer utility upside if the Giants opt to get creative with their lineup decisions.     Advice: Schneemann made his major-league debut Sunday, and it didn't take him long to add a couple other milestones. He produced a two-run double in his first at-bat, providing all of the Guardians' run production in the contest. The 27-year-old is likely to take on a utility role -- he started at second base Sunday but likely won't see much time there with Andres Gimenez in a starting role at the keystone. Schneemann's best paths to playing time will likely be right field or shortstop, as Will Brennan and Brayan Rocchio haven't hit particularly well despite seeing large roles this season. He played a more noticeable role Sunday with a two-run single to tie the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning. Those RBI were his first since May 21.     Advice: Burleson entered Sunday 0-for-17 over his last four games. He ended the drought -- his longest of the season -- with a third-inning blast to put the Cardinals ahead 4-2. Burleson has been forced into a larger role with the Cardinals lacking several starters, including Lars Nootbaar (oblique), who is expected to be out for nearly all of June. Burleson is slashing .273/.302/.418 with six homers, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases over 50 contests and should have a chance to continue playing on a near-everyday basis for the foreseeable future. This was his fourth multi-hit effort over the last nine games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with four homers and 10 RBI. Gorman has been a near-everyday player lately, though the Cardinals called up Jose Fermin on Friday for infield depth, which could lead to Gorman sitting out against some southpaws moving forward.     Advice: Jones hadn't played for Albuquerque since April 21 due to the unspecified injury, but he picked up right where he left off in his return to action for the Triple-A club. Through 80 plate appearances on the season, Jones is slashing .254/.375/.418 with a pair of home runs and 14 stolen bases.
