• Neris blows save as Cubs lose 7-6 Monday
Hector Neris allowed three runs, blew the save and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: The Cubs lead evaporated quickly in the ninth inning. With one out, Jorge Soler reached on a catcher interference. After Neris issued a walk to Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada hit a three-run home run to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. Neris now has four blown saves on the year including two blown saves in his last three opportunities. Neris’ ERA is now 4.73 on the year. His grip on the closer role loosens with every blown save. • Doval picks up 13th save
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Cubs on Monday.

Advice: Doval bounced back to earn the save after allowing four runs and recording only one out in his last appearance on Sunday. His ERA will take some time to recover from that outing, but he lowered it to 4.71 on Monday. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
  • Cruises to easy win
Peterson allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings Monday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rangers.

Advice: Peterson delivered a quality start as the Mets piled on 14 runs of support in the victory. He's earned three straight wins and has produced a quality start in two of his first four outings this season. He dropped his ERA to 3.97 with a 12:8 K:BB through 22.2 innings. Peterson also generated a season-high 11 whiffs, including six with his fastball. His next start is expected to be on the road against the Cubs. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

Advice: Assad gave up five hits, walked two and struck out seven. He won four of his first nine starts of the season, but hasn’t won any of his last six starts. Assad struck out at least seven batters for the fourth time in his last five starts. His ERA is now 2.75 on the year. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mets at home this weekend.

  • Hicks throws five shutout innings against Cubs
Jordan Hicks threw five shutout innings and got a no-decision against the Cubs on Monday.

Advice: Hicks gave up four hits, walked four and struck out four. It was a solid start for Hicks, who lowered his ERA to 2.82 on the season with the effort. The converted reliever hasn’t completed six innings in a start since April, but he continues to pitch well while he’s out there. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face his former team the Cardinals on the road this weekend.

  • Goes six innings in loss
Spiers (0-1) took the loss Monday versus the Pirates. He gave up four runs over six innings, allowing seven hits and striking out five.

Advice: After a bumpy start, Spiers still managed to get through six innings in his first start of the season. He gave up five of his seven hits and all four runs in the first two innings, before settling in nicely. The 26-year-old had impressed as a multi-inning reliever, leading to the opportunity in the rotation opening up. There is no word yet on whether he will get another start, but regardless, the 3.20 ERA through 25.1 innings this season should keep him in the conversation.  Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 pm

  • Peterson wins third consecutive start Monday
David Peterson allowed two runs in six innings and got the win in the Mets’ 14-2 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Peterson gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He’s now won three consecutive starts and the six strikeouts were a season-high. A former first round pick by the Mets in 2017, Peterson is once again getting a chance in the Mets’ rotation and seems to be making the most of it. He struggled with a 5.03 ERA in 27 appearances last year, but his 3.59 xFIP suggested he wasn’t quite that bad. He now has a 3.97 ERA in four starts this year. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Cubs on the road this weekend.

  • Records 15th save
Bednar pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save against the Reds in Monday's 4-1 win.

Advice: After serving up homers in each of his last two appearances, Bednar got back on track with a clean frame Monday. Bednar had a disastrous start to the season with 14 earned runs allowed in his first 13 outings, but he's turned it around with a 1.88 ERA over his last 19.1 innings. Despite the 5.34 ERA for the season, Bednar remains one of the better late-inning options, as his 15 saves are tied for eighth most in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 7:55 pm
