Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Cardinals.
Advice: Happ was the only Chicago player with multiple hits and had the only extra-base knock as well in a sluggish offensive game for his team. The outfielder now has consecutive two-hit efforts with a home run and a double mixed in. Happ's overall .224/.335/.384 slash line could still use some work to get closer to his career marks, though he's starting to trend in the right direction. Rotowire.comMonday, 5:02 am
Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored, and stolen base on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Advice: Happ, like the rest of the Cubs, has not been hitting his best of late. He ignited both of their mini rallies in this one, scoring their only run and making Ryan Helsley sweat in the ninth inning. Hopefully this can jump start a hot streak in what’s been a mediocre season. RotoworldSunday, 1:05 pm
Greene went 4-for-5 with one walk, two home runs and six RBI in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Astros.
Advice: Greene was a beast in this contest. He contributed a solo shot in the first inning, a three-run blast in the second and an RBI single in the third as the Tigers jumped out to a 10-0 lead. His sixth RBI of the day came on a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. The outfielder has driven in 12 runs during his six-game hitting streak and he's batting .321 (17-for-53) in June. The 23-year-old is up to 14 homers, 36 RBI, 48 runs scored, three stolen bases and a .256/.348/.488 slash line through 69 contests overall as he continues to cement himself as a building block for the Tigers during their ongoing rebuild. Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Cardinals.
Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder took John King deep in the seventh inning, Happ's first homer in June. The performance snapped a 1-for-24 slump over his prior seven games, and on the season he's slashing .218/.328/.376 over 65 contests with seven homers, five steals, 32 runs and 33 RBI. Riley Greene went 4-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI and two runs scored in a 13-5 win over the Astros on Saturday.
Advice: Greene didn’t hit for a ton of power last year while recovering from a shoulder injury, so there was a narrative that he was more of a slap hitter, but that was never the case. The 23-year-old is now up to 14 home runs on the season to go along with 36 RBI and a .836 OPS. He looks to be in the midst of a full-on breakout and has a bright fantasy future ahead of him. Ian Happ slugs three-run homer to defeat Cardinals
Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer on Saturday, propelling the Cubs to a 5-1 victory over the division-rival Cardinals.
Advice: Happ extended Chicago’s lead to a commanding four-run margin with a three-run blast off Cardinals lefty reliever John King with two outs in the seventh inning. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season and first time he’s gone deep since May 31. RotoworldSaturday, 1:52 pm
Happ is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.
Advice: Happ has had a rough road trip, collecting just one hit in 21 at-bats. He'll rest for the final game of the trip as Mike Tauchman draws the start in left field for the Cubs. Rotowire.comThursday, 1:31 pm
Kerry Carpenter, who has been resting for two weeks after being diagnosed with a lumbar spine fracture, said his back is starting to feel better.
Advice: The Tigers haven’t provided any timetable for Carpenter’s return, but Carpenter said he was told he’d need three and a half to four weeks of total rest before resuming baseball activities. He’s a bit more than halfway there now. RotoworldThursday, 7:54 am
Greene went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Nationals.
Advice: Greene is starting to get going at the plate, as he's now batting .275 in June with two home runs, seven RBI and eight runs scored across 10 games. The young outfielder has pushed himself up to 12 long balls on the season, and if he stays hot the rest of the month, his counting stats could trend upward quickly. Rotowire.comWednesday, 8:14 pm
