    Gordon went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Oakland.

    Advice: Gordon was perfect at the plate Sunday, starting with his three-run jack in the first inning. Since his last multi-hit performance April 20, he'd been stuck in a 3-for-26 slump over 12 games. His homer Sunday was his fourth of the year and first since April 14.   • Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) undergoes additional tests
    Eduardo Rodriguez will undergo additional testing on his injured lat during the upcoming week.

    Advice: The Diamondbacks are hopeful that if all goes well, he’ll be able to begin a throwing program.     Sanchez allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out two during the win over Oakland.

    Advice: Sanchez threw four innings for the second straight outing and would've been in line for the victory if he went one more Sunday. He kept the A's scoreless through three frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth. Sanchez lowered his ERA to 7.50 with a lackluster 11:7 K:BB through 18 frames. As of now, he's likely sliding back to the bullpen with Braxton Garrett (shoulder) and Jesus Luzardo (elbow) both expected to return soon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:34 pm

    Boyle (2-5) yielded four runs on a hit and three walks over one inning Sunday, striking out one batter and taking a loss against Miami.

    Advice: Boyle narrowly escaped the first frame after coughing up a three-run shot to Nick Gordon. It was the shortest start of the year for Boyle, and he threw just 16 of 35 pitches for strikes. The command has been a constant problem for him this season; Boyle has registered a 29:23 K:BB with a 7.16 ERA through 27.2 innings. As of now, he's in line for a start in Seattle next weekend.   • Taijuan Walker posts quality start in win Sunday
    Taijuan Walker posted a quality start in Sunday night’s victory over the Giants, surrendering three runs on five hits across 6 1/3 strong innings of work.

    Advice: Walker racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while issuing just one free pass. The Giants scratched out a run in the opening inning on an RBI double by Michael Conforto, then Walker shut them down completely until Thairo Estrada connected on a two-run blast in the seventh. The 31-year-old hurler got just six swings and misses on 90 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 30 percent. Now 2-0 on the season, he’ll carry a 6.39 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and an 11/3 K/BB ratio (12 2/3 innings) into next weekend’s tilt against the Marlins in Miami. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm
     
  • Jakson Reetz swats first career home run in loss
    Jakson Reetz swatted the first home run of his big league career on Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Giants to victory over the Phillies in Philadelphia.

    Advice: The 28-year-old backstop had to take a red-eye flight to make it to Philadelphia in time to provide catching depth for the Giants on Sunday. He then took over for Blake Sabol after Austin Slater batted for him in the seventh inning and got a plate appearance in the ninth. There, he tattooed a 2-1 sinker from Jose Alvarado for a 393-foot (106.5 mph EV) solo shot that pulled the Giants to within a run at 5-4. That would be as close as they would get.   • Jake McCarthy has three hits in win over SD
    Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in an 11-4 win over the Padres.

    Advice: McCarthy had a double and two singles on the night and is now slashing .311/.366/.392. The 26-year-old has been hitting leadoff consistently for the Diamondbacks but with Alek Thomas set to return from the IL this week, it’s unclear how the Diamondbacks will split playing time between him and McCarthy. It’s unlikely you can get anything in a trade for McCarthy, so you may just have to ride the wave and hope he can earn enough starts to remain productive. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm
     
  • Dean Kremer dominates Reds on Sunday
    Dean Kremer threw six shutout innings against the Reds on Sunday, allowing one hit while striking out six.

    Advice: It was a masterful performance. Kremer posted a 33 percent CSW and 37 percent whiff rate, highlighted by seven whiffs on 13 swings on his four-seam fastball. Kremer leaned heavily on the cutter on Sunday and danced around the zone, throwing less than 50 percent of pitches in the strike zone, but he got the Reds to chase.   • Nick Gordon has four hits, HR in win over A’s
    Nick Gordon went 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the A’s on Sunday.

    Advice: Gordon got the party started with a 406-foot home run off Joe Boyle in the first inning that was 104.7 mph off the bat and drove in three runs. He added two more singles and a double, all of which were hit at least 98 mph. The 28-year-old has started four of the last six games but is slashing just .207/.241/.390 on the season with four home runs and 15 RBI. He should be left on the wire outside of the deepest formats.
