• Riding pine Wednesday
Rocchio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Gabriel Arias will take over at shortstop while Rocchio sits out the series finale. Rocchio lifted his batting average up to .208 after going 2-for-9 at the plate while he started each of the past three games. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

  • Goes through agility drills
Turner (hamstring) went through agility drills and fielded grounders at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Turner is less than two weeks removed from suffering a left hamstring strain, so it would seem to be a positive development that he's already working out on the field. Phillies manager Rob Thomson insisted Wednesday that "there is no timeline" for Turner's return, but it's possible the shortstop has a shot to beat the initially projected six-week timetable. • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of lineup
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the Cubs’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s ballgame against the Braves.

Advice: The 27-year-old infielder was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to tightness in his left hamstring, and he’ll get an additional day off on Wednesday to rest as well. Miles Mastrobuoni will start in his place at shortstop and bat sixth for the Cubs against Charlie Morton and the Braves on Wednesday evening in Atlanta. Rotoworld Today, 1:35 pm

  • Held out again Wednesday
Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Hoerner was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 7-0 loss with left hamstring tightness and still isn't feeling up to playing. Hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky, but the Cubs haven't indicated at this point that Hoerner will require a stint on the injured list. Miles Mastrobuoni will again fill in at shortstop. • Retreating to bench
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario will head to the bench after he had started in each of the previous four games while seeing time at three different spots in the infield (second base, third base and shortstop). Though the right-handed-hitting Rosario should remain a mainstay in the lineup versus lefties, his opportunities to play against right-handed pitching could be more limited moving forward after the Rays activated the lefty-hitting Jonathan Aranda from the injured list Tuesday. • Trea Turner (hamstring) takes ground balls
Trea Turner (hamstring) took ground balls and did some agility drills on the field on Wednesday without any issue.

Advice: Turner told reporters after landing on the injured list in early May that he would miss at least six weeks with his left hamstring strain. He appears to be making excellent progress in his recovery though, and I don’t think it would surprise anyone at this point if he beat that initial estimate. Rotoworld Today, 1:08 pm

  • Maikel Garcia getting a night off on Wednesday
Maikel Garcia is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s matchup against the Mariners.

Advice: The 24-year-old infielder has been scuffling a bit at the plate as of late, so perhaps a day off to clear his head will do him some good. On the season, he’s slashing .239/.288/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases through his first 43 games. Adam Frazier will start at the hot corner and hit leadoff against Bryan Woo and the Mariners on Wednesday night in Seattle. Rotoworld Today, 1:00 pm

  • Transferred to 60-day IL
The Athletics transferred Hernaiz (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Advice: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Aaron Brooks, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Astros. Hernaiz suffered a severe left ankle sprain last week and now won't be eligible to return until early July. Max Schuemann has since taken over as Oakland's everyday shortstop in his stead. • A’s shift Darell Hernaiz to 60-day IL
Athletics transferred INF Darell Hernaiz from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: That must be a pretty bad ankle sprain that Hernaiz suffered last week. The A’s are currently rolling with Max Schuemann as their everyday shortstop. Rotoworld Today, 12:35 pm
