    • Logs steal in loss
Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Caballero had gone without a steal in his last seven games, matching his longest drought of the year, which he's now done three times. He's hitting .278 (15-for-54) over 18 games in May, picking up nine of his 18 steals on the year this month. The speedster has slashed .263/.319/.368 with two home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs, eight doubles and a triple through 168 plate appearances. Caballero continues to see a majority of the playing time at shortstop over Amed Rosario. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Struggles with command
Walker didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Texas, allowing three runs on six hits and four walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Walker issued a season-high four walks Wednesday, two of which came in the fifth inning before he was yanked. After taking a comebacker off the foot in his last start end exiting early, Walker threw 86 pitches and didn't seem to be limited in any capacity. Although the 31-year-old owns a 5.06 ERA across 26.2 innings, he holds a 3-0 record and hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since his 2024 debut. He's projected to make his next start Monday at the pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 pm

    • José Caballero with two hits, swipes base in loss
José Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: The stolen base was Cabellero’s 18th of the season and tied him with Brice Turang for second-most in the league behind only Elly De La Cruz. Those steals alone have turned him into one of the best bargains from draft season so far and as the Rays’ roster crunch becomes more crowded, Caballero’s defense at shortstop is very likely to keep him on the field every day. • Taijuan Walker unable to hang on for win
Taijuan Walker was chased by the Rangers after 4 2/3 innings. He allowed three earned runs, walked four, and struck out five in a no-decision.

Advice: It’s frustrating to see Walker fall one out short of earning a victory, but he labored through this start and left with the tying run at the plate before the Phillies broke it open. This version of Walker doesn’t miss many bats and he’s earned every bit of his 5.06 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm

    • Out indefinitely with broken shoulder
The Padres placed Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured left shoulder.

Advice: Bogaerts suffered the injury on an awkward dive Monday in Atlanta. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, the infielder doesn't appear to be dealing with any damage to his labrum and will avoid surgery, but he'll need significant down time for the shoulder to heal. Bogaerts intends to play again this season, perhaps by the latter part of the summer. With Bogaerts out indefinitely, Luis Arraez is likely to move off designated hitter and see more consistent playing time at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:32 pm

    • Bogaerts out two months with fractured shoulder
Padres placed INF Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left shoulder.

Advice: Ouch. Bogaerts sustained the injury while diving for a ball during the first game of Monday’s doubleheader. He’s expected to miss at least two months while recovering from the injuy. Luis Arraez is covering second base on Wednesday and will probably see additional action there while Bogaerts is shelved. David Peralta was promoted from Triple-A El Paso to take his place on the Padres’ active roster on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:18 pm

    • Supplies game-winning home run
Toro went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Toro's bat was silent until the eighth inning when he sent out a home run to right field to give the A's their first lead of the night. He's racked up seven hits over his last five games and leads the majors with 28 hits in the month of May. Since April 26, Toro is slashing .362/.406/.553 with three homers, 10 RBI, 17 runs and a 4:16 BB:K in 101 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:45 am

    • Day off versus left-hander
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The Mets are starting left-hander Jose Quintana and the two teams are concluding the series with a day game after a night game, so it's a sensible spot for Guardians manager Stephen Vogt to give the left-handed-hitting Naylor a breather. David Fry will start at first base Wednesday in Naylor's stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 am

    • Picks up win No. 2
Pfaadt (2-3) got the win over the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings.

Advice: Pfaadt picked up a win for the first time since his season-opening start against the Rockies on March 31. His first run allowed was unearned off a throwing error by Gabriel Moreno and then the Dodgers finally got to him in the sixth for a pair. Pfaadt only gave up one barreled ball on the evening and now has five straight quality starts and seven or more strikeouts three times. The 25-year-old now owns a 4.05 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 58:11 K:BB in 60 innings and lines up to face the Rangers on the road next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:16 am
