      Advice: Rooker stayed hot at the plate with his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five game and second home run over that span as well. Since the start of May, Rooker is slashing .441/.525/.882 with four homers, 12 RBI, 11 runs and a 6:7 BB:K in 40 plate appearances. He's now up to 10 long balls on the year and is one of 10 players with double digit home runs thus far.       Advice: Gelof's ability to play a full game for the second straight day is certainly an encouraging sign for his progress from his oblique injury. The young infielder could be on the verge of activation, although the Athletics will undoubtedly evaluate him carefully Monday to see how he's responded to the back-to-back full workloads over the weekend.       Merrill went 3-for-4 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Merrill tallied at least three hits in a game for the fourth time this season and it was his 11th multi-hit game of his rookie campaign. Merrill hadn't swiped a bag since April 16 but managed to steal and eventually score in the fourth before taking another base in the eighth.       Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Cronenworth got things started for the Padres by going back-to-back with Fernando Tatis off Walker Buehler in the opening inning. He went hitless the rest of the afternoon but continues to be one of the Padres' best bats. He had a 12-game hit streak that came to an end Friday and has been showing increased power early on. His .503 slug percentage is fourth among all first basemen and is a significant personal improvement after averaging a .384 slugging over his last two seasons.       Lugo (6-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out 12 and walking none over eight innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

      Advice: Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old.       Advice: Wade has gotten on base in his last 13 games, going 11-for-34 with a 13:10 BB:K in that span. While he's been an on-base machine this season, he's struggled to hit for power -- his homer Sunday was his second of the year, and he's added just five doubles over 40 contests. Wade is slashing .340/.480/.457 with 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base over 123 plate appearances. He's just shy of being a qualified hitter due to beginning the year in a strong-side platoon role, but he's seen more opportunities versus southpaws since Jorge Soler (shoulder) went on the injured list Wednesday.       Jake Cronenworth blasted his seventh home run of the season on Sunday, helping to power the Padres to victory over the visiting Dodgers.

      Advice: The 30-year-old infielder went back-to-back with teammate Fernando Tatis Jr. off of Walker Buehler in the opening inning of this one, with Cronenworth’s blast traveling 408 feet (106.5 mph EV).
