    • Hits leadoff homer Saturday
Abrams went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in an 8-1 win against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams didn't wait long to make his presence felt, swatting a 396-foot homer to lead off the contest. It was the 13th long ball of the campaign for the shortstop, and he's well on pace to surpass the 18 home runs he hit during his first full big-league season last year. Abrams hasn't been as successful as a runner this season -- he's just 13-for-22 in stolen-base attempts after going 47-for-51 in 2023 -- but he's otherwise shown growth in nearly every offensive category, slashing .278/.334/.498 with 20 doubles, five triples, 50 runs and 42 RBI through 328 plate appearances. • Goes yard twice in rout
Machado went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Saturday's 11-1 rout of the Red Sox.

Advice: The veteran third baseman launched a two-run homer in the third inning and a three-run blast in the fifth, both off Tanner Houck. Machado has hit safely in 10 of the last 11 games, batting .415 (17-for-41) with four of his 10 homers on the season over that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:09 pm

    • Will Smith drives in three runs in Dodgers victory
Will Smith went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI on Saturday night as the Dodgers outlasted the Giants in 11 innings.

Advice: Smith beat out an infield single in the fourth inning that drove in a run and knotted the score at five runs apiece. He then delivered the game’s biggest hit in the 11th inning, smacking a two-run double that gave the Dodgers a two-run lead and put them well on their way to victory. With his three-hit night, the 29-year-old backstop is now hitting .269/.339/.466 with 11 homers and 50 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 pm

    • Grabs first career win
Povich (1-2) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win Saturday over the Rangers.

Advice: He gave up a couple of solo home runs, but Povich ended up earning his first career win after Heston Kjerstad put the Orioles ahead with a grand slam in the fifth inning. After allowing six runs in his debut, Povich has given up a total of six runs across his last four outings. He's at a decent 4.05 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB through 26.2 innings over five starts. The Orioles had discussed going to a six-man rotation before a rough stretch of pitching injuries in June, so it's unclear if Povich will stick around in the majors once Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the injured list, which could happen next week. • Cade Povich allows just two solo homers in win
Cade Povich held the Rangers to two runs while working five innings in a victory Saturday.

Advice: Both runs allowed by Povich came on solo homers. He gave up a shot to Corey Seager in the first before Seager left with a wrist injury, and another to Derek Hill in the fifth. Outside of that it was a strong outing for the 24-year-old rookie that saw him strike out three and not issue a walk. As long as Povich throws strikes, he’s got the stuff to succeed at the highest level. He has a friendly match-up scheduled for Friday against Oakland. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:15 pm
    • Falls flat versus Arizona
Harris (1-2) allowed three runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Just two of the 10 hits against Harris went for extra-bases, but he put too much traffic on the bases in each of the first four innings. The Athletics offered next to nothing in terms of offense, tallying two hits and a walk in the 3-0 loss. Harris had gone at least five innings in each of his previous five outings since he was recalled to the majors May 30. He's now at a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB through 39.2 innings over eight appearances (six starts) this season. The southpaw is tentatively projected to make his next start at home in a tough matchup versus the Orioles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:12 pm

    • Strikes out eight in win
Bassitt (7-6) earned the win over the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one unearned run on six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Bassitt fired five scoreless innings before Anthony Volpe reached on an error in the sixth and came around to score on a single by Aaron Judge. He has now logged three consecutive quality starts and has not allowed more than three earned runs in an outing since April 26. The 35-year-old has lowered his ERA over two full runs since the conclusion of April and now owns a 3.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:37 K:BB over 97.1 innings this season. He lines up for a home matchup with the Astros next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:01 pm
    • Ramirez blasts 23rd home run in win Saturday
Jose Ramirez went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a double, a solo home run and two RBI against the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Ramirez’ home run was his 23rd of the season. He had an RBI double in the fifth inning to give the Guardians a 4-2 lead. He scored on Josh Naylor’s RBI double to make it 5-2 and his home run in the seventh inning made it 7-2. Ramirez is hitting .280 with an .890 OPS and 75 RBI on the year. • Manny Machado homers twice in rout of Red Sox
Manny Machado homered twice and drove in five runs in an 11-1 blowout victory over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Machado blasted both homers off Tanner Houck, a three-run shot in the fifth and a two-run blast in the second. It’s the first multi-homer game for the 31-year-old in 2024, but five of his 10 homers have come thus far in the month of June. Machado’s also picked up multiple hits in his last three games and six times since June 19, and appears to be righting the ship after a disappointing first two-plus months of the campaign.
