Bednar (1-2) took the loss Friday against the Giants after he allowed three runs on two hits and a walk without recording an out.

Advice: Pirates manager Derek Shelton turned to his closer in the bottom of the ninth of a scoreless tie, but Bednar gave up a walk and a single before serving up a walk-off, three-run homer to Patrick Bailey. Bednar entered the contest with three straight scoreless appearances, but he has now allowed at least three runs in three separate outings and has a 12.00 ERA across nine innings overall. The right-hander is 4-for-7 in save opportunities and has seen his job security decline significantly after beginning the campaign as one of the top closers in MLB with 58 saves and a 2.27 ERA in the previous two seasons. • Launches fifth homer
Muncy went 3-for-6 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in Friday's 12-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Muncy broke the game open in the third inning with a three-run blast off Chirs Bassitt, extending the Dodgers' lead to 6-0. The 33-year-old Muncy is now 5-for-9 in his last two contests after going 0-for-10 in his previous four games. Overall, he's slashing .258/.361/.494 with five homers, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored through 26 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 pm

    • Notches second win
Ober (2-1) allowed two runs on three this and three walks over 7.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.

Advice: Ober fired five shutout frames before the Angels broke through with a run in the sixth inning. After he was throttled for eight runs in his season debut, the 28-year-old righty has given up just four runs over his last four starts, dropping his ERA down to 4.21 through 25.2 innings. He's also posted an impressive 24:6 K:BB through 24.1 frames over his last four outings. Ober is currently in line for a road matchup with the White Sox next week, where he has a good chance to continue riding this momentum. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:59 pm
    • David Bednar struggles again, allows walk-off HR
David Bednar didn’t record an out while giving up a three-run homer and picking up a loss to the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Oof. Bednar walked Michael Conforto to open the ninth, and after walking Matt Chapman, the 29-year-old gave up a three-run homer to Patrick Bailey to turn a 0-0 game into a 3-0 win for the Giants. This is already the third appearance of the year where Bednar has allowed three or more runs, and that helps explain why his ERA is now 12.00. There’s lots of reasons to expect Bednar to bounce back in the summer months, but fantasy managers have the right to be frustrated with how he’s pitched in April. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:51 pm
    • Bailey Ober pitches into eighth in win over Angels
Bailey Ober went 7 2/3 innings while allowing two runs with eight strikeouts to get a win Friday over the Angels.

Advice: Ober gave up just three hits, but did walk three while throwing 63-of-96 pitches for strikes. The right-hander breezed through the first five innings without allowing a run, and while he did allow a run in the sixth and eighth, it’s obviously a strong outing for the 28-year-old. Ober has been strong in his last few outings, but his 4.21 ERA is being held hostage but the nine runs he allowed to Kansas City in the first start of the year. Ober is a must-start next week against the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:43 pm
    • J.T. Realmuto homers in victory over Padres
J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Friday in a victory over the Padres.

Advice: Realmuto turned a not-so-close game into a blowout with a two-run homer to extend Philadelphia’s lead from 7-1 to 9-1. The backstop also doubled and drew a walk for a very strong fantasy night from a catcher that has provided plenty of them in his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Not starting Friday
Estrada (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Estrada went 0-for-2 in Wednesday's game against the Mets before being pulled due to left hamstring tightness. The Giants had an off day Thursday, but the 28-year-old will sit out for at least one more game while managing his injury. Tyler Fitzgerald will start at second base Friday and bat eighth against Pirates right-hander Quinn Priester. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:18 pm

    • Throwing live batting practice
Pivetta (elbow) will throw a 50-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: If Pivetta comes out the live BP session without any hiccups, he should be cleared to make a rehab start next week. That would probably set him up to rejoin the Red Sox rotation the following week if all goes well. Pivetta has been out since early April with a right elbow flexor strain. • Mark Canha collects two hits in loss to Royals
Mark Canha went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles as the Tigers were shut out by the Royals on Friday afternoon at Comerica Park.

Advice: As a team, the Tigers tallied just five total hits in the ballgame, with Canha the only player to have more than one. The 35-year-old outfielder is actually off to a nice start in his first season with the Tigers, slashing .271/.398/.518 with five homers, 14 RBI and a stolen base through his first 25 games. Not bad for a guy that was going outside the top-350 picks overall in fantasy drafts this spring. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:14 pm
