    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Collects third win
Soriano (3-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out one over six innings to earn the win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano has gone at least six innings in each of his last four starts, giving up a total of 11 runs (10 earned) over 25.2 innings in that span. While the one strikeout match his season low, Soriano also kept the ball in the yard for his second straight start. The 25-year-old is at a 3.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB over 64.1 innings in 13 appearances (11 starts) this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road at Arizona. • Drives in four
Gonzales went 2-for-3 with a two-RBI double, a sacrifice fly and an RBI single during Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Despite the Pirates putting up a 10-spot, Gonzales' two-RBI double in the second inning was Pittsburgh's lone extra-base hit on the day. His four RBI tied his career high, which was set May 24 against Atlanta. Before that, the 25-year-old hadn't generated more than two RBI in a game in his career. Wednesday's contest added to Gonzales' breakout campaign, as he's slashing .310/.355/.500 with 20 RBI, 12 runs and two stolen bases in 94 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:31 pm

    • Secures sixth straight victory
Rodon (8-2) earned the win over Minnesota on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out nine batters.

Advice: Rodon was staked to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back, keeping alive a perfect game until Carlos Santana homered with one out in the sixth frame. The left-handed hurler picked up his sixth consecutive win, and he's notched a quality start in each of those victories. Rodon also dominated with 18 swinging strikes Wednesday en route to a season-high nine punchouts. He's bounced back from a disastrous first year in New York last season to post a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 71:20 K:BB through 73 innings during the current campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:27 pm
    • José Soriano earns win over Padres on Wednesday
José Soriano allowed two runs -- one earned -- with one strikeout over six innings in a win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano did a great job working around six hits and a walk despite only one strikeout. He was able to limit damage throughout his start by inducing 13 groundouts. The Padres wouldn’t bring a run in until the sixth inning. Two singles, a double, and an error would bring two runs in for San Diego. Soriano would end his day after six frames with the quality start. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 3.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 55/26 K/BB ratio across 64 1/3 innings into a start against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Wednesday. • Yimi García winds up with victory in relief
Yimi García was credited with a victory after pitching a scoreless top of the ninth in a tie game Wednesday versus the Orioles.

Advice: García is the clear favorite for saves in the Toronto pen with Jordan Romano sidelined, but the Jays didn’t hold him back for the 10th or 11th tonight. He now has two wins and three saves to go along with his 1.50 ERA in 24 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:18 pm

    • Nick Gonzales knocks in four in win over Dodgers
Nick Gonzales drove in four runs with a double, a single and a sac fly Wednesday as the Pirates bested the Dodgers 10-6.

Advice: Gonzales is now tied for third on the Pirates with 20 RBI, even as he’s a distant 11th on the team with 90 plate appearances. The Pirates started him at shortstop for the second time tonight, as Oneil Cruz was sitting against a lefty. Gonzales definitely seems better off at second, but the versatility helps, especially since he probably isn’t going to keep up this pace offensively. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Carlos Rodón strikes out nine in win over Twins
Carlos Rodón was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Twins, piling up nine strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw scattered just three hits on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He kept the Twins’ offense at bat completely through the first five frames until Carlos Santana slugged a solo homer in the sixth inning. The Twins also scratched out a run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Carlos Correa later in the inning. Rodón generated 18 swings and misses on 100 pitches on the night — eight of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. Now 8-2 on the season, Rodón will attempt to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 71/20 K/BB ratio (73 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Royals in Kansas City. • William Contreras posts two hits, doubles in loss
William Contreras went 2-for-3 with a double on Wednesday in the Brewers’ shutout loss at the hands of the Phillies.

Advice: There weren’t a ton of bright spots here for Milwaukee as Contreras supplied two of their three total hits, and lone extra-base hit of the contest, as Phillies starter Aaron Nola and a pair of relievers combined on a three-hit shutout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:52 pm
