    • Slams door for save
Helsley struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Milwaukee on Sunday.

Advice: Helsley needed only 12 pitches (10 strikes) to quickly close out the 4-3 victory. Since blowing a save in his season debut, he's converted 12 consecutive chances. During that stretch, Helsley has given up just one earned run over 18 frames, lowering his season ERA to 1.42 alongside a 21:2 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 8:51 pm
    • Allows run in ninth save
McArthur allowed a run on one hit and did not walk or strike out a batter over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

Advice: McArthur was tagged for a solo home run by Willie Calhoun in the ninth inning, but the Royals' lead was never in real danger. Over 4.2 innings in May, McArthur has yielded six runs (five earned), with three of the eight hits he's allowed in that span leaving the yard. He's 9-for-12 in save opportunities while adding a hold, a 4.42 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander's shaky pitching of late hasn't cost him the closer job, but John Schreiber has been an excellent setup man and could take over if McArthur doesn't start locking things down. • James McArthur closes out Angels to nab ninth save
James McArthur served up a solo homer in the ninth inning on Sunday, but managed to escape with a two-run lead intact to secure his ninth save of the season.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander allowed a one-out solo shot to Willie Calhoun but retired each of the other three hitters that he faced — needing just 11 pitches total (eight strikes) to navigate the ninth inning. On the season, he now holds a 4.42 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and an 18/3 K/BB ratio across 18 1/3 innings while converting nine of his first 12 save chances. Despite some recent struggles, Royals’ skipper Matt Quatraro seems committed to keeping McArthur in the closer’s role, which means he’ll continue to have mixed league fantasy value. • Ryan Helsley perfect in earning 12th save
Ryan Helsley notched his 12th save with a perfect ninth against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Helsey struck out two. He’s been credited with a win or a save in 87.5% of the Cardinals’ 16 victories this season. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 pm
    • Gets another turn through rotation
Gasser is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Pirates at American Family Field.

Advice: The Brewers will keep Gasser in the rotation as their No. 5 starter over Tobias Myers, who was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Friday. That same day, Gasser made his MLB debut against the Cardinals and breezed through six scoreless innings while striking out four and allowing just two hits and zero walks. His numbers in three starts at Nashville (5.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB in 12 innings) should give fantasy managers some pause in expecting Gasser to repeat the success of his MLB debut, but he'll at least make for an intriguing streaming option while facing off against a weak Pittsburgh offense that had posted a 70 wRC+ in nine May games heading into Sunday. • Aaron Judge homers in win over Rays
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 10-6 win over the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Judge’s homer was a 374-foot shot that left the bat at 106.7 mph. In fact, Judge had three of the five hardest-hit balls of the day, including a 109.9 mph single in the first inning and a 106.7 mph flyout in the eighth inning that had a .770 xBA and would have been a home run in 10 MLB stadiums. The Yankees slugger is not off to a great start to the season, but he went 7-for-21 this week with three home runs and seven RBI, so perhaps he’s starting to feel like himself a bit. • Luis Gil twirls six shutout in win over Rays
Luis Gil threw six shutout innings in a win over the Rays on Sunday, allowing three hits while striking out three.

Advice: Gil also walked two on the day and showed solid enough command, pounding the zone with his four-seam fastball over 60 percent of the time. The changeup was the only pitch that wasn’t consistently landing in the zone, but he got plenty of swings and misses with a 29 percent whiff rate on it. It wasn’t a dominant effort with a 23 percent CSW, but he didn’t allow much hard contact. His season ERA is now down to 2.51, and he has a great start against the White Sox next weekend and should be started in all league types. Rotoworld Today, 1:50 pm

    • Tyler Glasnow won’t start Wednesday vs. Giants
Tyler Glasnow will not start Wednesday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the ball Monday with Gavin Stone on Tuesday, but the Dodgers will either go with a bullpen game or make a roster move prior to Wednesday’s game rather than have Glasnow start. The Dodgers have given the right-hander at least five days off betweens starts in 2024, and that will continue for the foreseeable future. Rotoworld Today, 11:41 am
    • Dodgers expect Ohtani (back) to return Monday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that the team hasn’t made a decision as to whether Shohei Ohtani (back) is available off the bench for Sunday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: Roberts noted that Ohtani was able to take part in some pregame activity, but the team ultimately decided to give the 29-year-old a day off after leaving Saturday with back tightness. Most importantly, it sounds like Ohtani has a good chance to be back for Monday’s game against the Giants. Even if he was able to miss that game, it does appear the superstar has avoided a long-term injury. Rotoworld Today, 11:33 am
