    • Christian Yelich (back) resumes swinging bat
      Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Sunday that Christian Yelich (back) has resumed swinging, but that his progress has “stalled.”

      Advice: “I think within a week, we’ll be in a better spot,” Murphy told reporters. Yelich has been on the shelf since April 16 because of his lower back strain, and while it’s a positive development that he’s able to swing the stick, it’s less so to hear that he’s not making continued progress. The 32-year-old was expected to need just around a minimum stint on the injured list, but there’s a good chance that Yelich won’t return until the start of May at this point. Rodon surrendered 15 long balls in 14 starts last season but has a 0.8 HR/9 through six outings in 2024. The team didn't score again until the fifth frame, and Bohm added two more RBI in that inning on a two-out single. The third-year outfielder had had an impressive beginning to the campaign, notching at least one hit in 17 of his 26 contests.       Alec Bohm homered and drove in four runs in a victory Saturday over the Padres.

      Advice: Bohm got the party started with a two-run homer off a shaky Dylan Cease in the first inning. The 27-year-old added two more RBI with a single off Cease in the fifth to bring his RBI total 26 in 28 games. That number isn’t sustainable, but Bohm is going to get a lot of run-producing changes as long as he’s effective enough to justify hitting in the middle of this loaded Philadelphia lineup.
