    • Earns seventh win
Rodon (7-2) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Rodon ran through the Angels' lineup for most of the night, surrendering one run over the first six frames while producing five 1-2-3 innings. However, the veteran lefty would run into trouble in the seventh after allowing the first three batters to reach, paving the way for Ian Hamilton to take over in relief. Rodon has won each of his last five starts, posting a 26:6 K:BB over that stretch. He's also logged quality starts in five straight outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am
    • Fans nine batters in defeat
Pivetta (2-4) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Pivetta's nine punchouts were his most since his season debut March 29, and the outing was a nice bounce-back from his five-run, 3.1-inning start his previous time on the mound. However, Boston's offense couldn't generate any runs, saddling the right-hander with his fourth loss. Pivetta has had a couple poor starts this season, but he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 pm

    • Allows just one hit in victory
Flaherty (2-4) earned the win over Boston on Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out nine batters over 6.2 scoreless innings.

Advice: Flaherty was at his best Thursday, racking up 15 swinging strikes and tying his season high with 6.2 frames. The right-hander struck out exactly nine batters for the third straight contest and recorded his sixth consecutive quality start. Though the win was just his second this season, Flaherty has been very good in his first year with Detroit, posting a 3.46 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 90:10 K:BB over 67.2 innings. • Carlos Rodón allows three over six in win over Angels
Carlos Rodón gave up three runs over six innings to pick up a win Thursday over the Angels.

Advice: Rodón allowed just one run over the first six innings, but a pair of runs were charged to him in the seventh to turn an excellent start into a solid if unspectacular effort. The southpaw struck out five and walked one, and he’s still the owner of a 3.09 effort for his troubles in 2024. Rodón will get another chance to pitch Wednesday against the Twins. • Homers in return
Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.

Advice: Pasquantino missed Wednesday's game due to a shin injury, but his absence wasn't a long one. He served as the designated hitter Thursday, but it shouldn't be long before he's back at first base. The 26-year-old's homer was his first since May 9, which was also the date of his previous multi-hit effort. Pasquantino is slashing just .229/.309/.404 with six homers, 35 RBI, 26 runs scored, 13 doubles and a triple over 220 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Jack Flaherty takes no-hitter into seventh vs. BOS
Jack Flaherty struck out nine while allowing just one hit over 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to help the Tigers to a 5-0 win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Flaherty didn’t allow a hit until there was one out in the seventh inning when Rob Refsnyder was able to break up the no-no. The right-hander has now struck out nine batters in three straight starts, and his K/BB for the month of May is 40/5. Flaherty has been a strong addition to the Detroit rotation, and he’s pitched better than his still-solid 3.46 ERA has indicated — especially lately. Assuming no changes to the rotation, he’s well worth starting next Tuesday against the Rangers in Texas. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm

    • Nick Pivetta strikes out nine, still takes loss
Nick Pivetta struck out nine while allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, but still was charged with a loss Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Pivetta gave up only three hits while walking two. He allowed a solo homer to Akil Baddoo, and another run crossed on an RBI single from Mark Canha. The right-hander has struck out at least eight batters in three of his last four chances, and he’s given up no more than two runs in those outings. Pivetta can drive fantasy managers mad with the occasional clunker, but the strikeouts are usually there. He’ll take a 4.08 ERA into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta on Wednesday. • Zac Gallen leaves start with hamstring strain
Zac Gallen was removed from Thursday’s start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Gallen will presumably head for some additional imaging the determine the severity of the injury and determine how much time he’ll wind up missing. The 28-year-old righty lasted just six pitches into Thursday’s outing at Citi Field before leaving with a trainer. He’s a near-lock to wind up requiring a trip to the injured list and will most likely wind up missing a couple weeks. It’s a tough break for the Diamondbacks, and fantasy managers, since Gallen has been one of the most durable starters in the fantasy landscape over the last few years. • Diagnosed with hamstring strain
Gallen was removed from Thursday's start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Gallen left Thursday's start with trainers after giving up one hit and throwing only six pitches, as he aggravated a hamstring injury that originally popped up April 26. An exact return timeline is unclear, but he'll almost certainly miss at least one start and is likely to end up on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:14 pm
