    • Homer, two hits in win
Ward went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over St. Louis.

Advice: Ward jumped on a four-seamer from Nick Robertson in the bottom of the seventh and sent it into the stands in left field for a leadoff home run, giving the outfielder his first long ball this month and his eighth overall on the season. Ward also recorded a single in the contest, marking his fourth multi-hit game in May, during which he's now batting .261 with three RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 5:34 am
    • Maikel Garcia getting a night off on Wednesday
Maikel Garcia is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s matchup against the Mariners.

Advice: The 24-year-old infielder has been scuffling a bit at the plate as of late, so perhaps a day off to clear his head will do him some good. On the season, he’s slashing .239/.288/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases through his first 43 games. Adam Frazier will start at the hot corner and hit leadoff against Bryan Woo and the Mariners on Wednesday night in Seattle. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:00 pm

    • Jackson Chourio swats 441-foot homer in blowout
Jackson Chourio went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday in the Brewers’ blowout win over the Pirates.

Advice: Chourio obliterated a 441-foot no-doubter to left field off Pirates veteran lefty Martín Pérez in the sixth inning for his fifth round-tripper of the season. The 20-year-old top prospect has undoubtedly been scuffling at the plate recently, but this was the type of moonshot that could potentially get him going again. It was his first time leaving the yard since April 20. He’s still a work in progress, but he’s shown flashes of immense five-category fantasy upside so far in his Brewers debut. It’s only a matter of time before he makes the leap to superstardom. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:56 pm
    • Rare day off Wednesday
Garcia is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia's only other day off this season came in the second game of a doubleheader. He will give way to Adam Frazier on Wednesday, both at third base and in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:47 am

    • Getting rest in series finale
Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill for the series finale, so the Nationals will stock up on some extra right-handed bats. The lefty-hitting Garcia will hit the bench after he went 1-for-8 with a walk while starting at second base in both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader. Trey Lipscomb will fill in for Garcia at the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:23 am
    • Gets fourth straight start
Chourio will start in left field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Chourio was on the bench for a stretch of four straight games from last Wednesday through Saturday, but he's now picked up starts in each of the subsequent four contests. Though he's reached base only twice over his last nine contests and carries a weak .579 OPS for the season into Wednesday's game, Chourio could nonetheless continue to see near-everyday playing time while Jake Bauers sees less time in the corner outfield and fills in at first base for the injured Rhys Hoskins (hamstring). Additionally, the struggling Blake Perkins -- who sat against right-handed starting pitchers both of the previous two days -- seems to have moved into more of a fourth-outfielder role of late. • Nabs 10th steal
Garcia went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia plated an insurance run with his eighth-inning single, and he swiped second shortly after the hit. The third baseman has two steals over the last three games and 10 thefts on the year. He's hit better in May, going 14-for-55 (.254) over 13 contests to lift his season slash line to .239/.288/.369 with four home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored over 192 plate appearances. • On bench Tuesday
Herrera is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Angels.

Advice: Since last taking a seat Thursday, Herrera has slashed .467/.556/.467 in a four-game span. In his absence, Pedro Pages has the start at catcher and will bat eighth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:02 pm
    • Cleared for running
Lewis (quadricep) did some light running on the field Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta described the upcoming week as a big one for Lewis when it comes to his recovery from the right quad strain that has kept him out since he suffered the injury Opening Day. Lewis will gradually ramp up the intensity of his running this week while incorporating more change-of-direction work into his training regimen. Depending on how Lewis responds to the running work, he could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next weekend. In addition to running, Lewis has been fielding grounders and hitting.
