    • Earns win against former team
Rodon (5-2) earned the win Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Rodon allowed a homer and a triple in the second inning, leading to two runs, but didn't allow another runner to cross the plate through six quality frames against his former club. According to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, Yankees manager Aaron Boone confessed after the game that Rodon was battling a cold all week, and the skipper considered pulling him after five but was impressed with the way he battled back after the shaky second frame. It was the third consecutive quality start and win for Rodon, who will carry a 3.27 ERA into his next start, tentatively slated to take place in San Diego when the Yankees travel to take on the Padres during a three-game weekend set. • Converts 10th save
Bednar walked one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Bednar took the loss in Saturday's game versus the Cubs, but he bounced back with a scoreless inning for his 10th save of the season. The right-hander has given up three runs on seven hits and three walks over 8.1 innings in May, but he also has five saves in nine appearances this month. Overall, he's at a 7.85 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB through 18.1 innings, though he's settled down after a brutal April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:21 pm
    • Efficient in earning second win
Pivetta (2-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on one hit over six innings against the Cardinals. He struck out eight.

Advice: A fourth-inning solo homer by Lars Nootbaar was the only blemish against Pivetta, who needed just 72 pitches to retire 18 of the 19 batters he faced. It was the second consecutive start for Pivetta with eight punchouts, as he's struck out 16 over 11.2 innings while allowing only three runs during that stretch. However, it should be noted that all three runs were scored by way of the long ball, and Pivetta has now allowed six homers, including five of the solo variety, over his last three appearances. Pivetta will look to carry the momentum into his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Red Sox welcome the Brewers into Fenway for a three-game set. • Carlos Rodón goes six in defeating former team
Carlos Rodón pitched six innings of two-run ball and struck out six Sunday as the Yankees topped the White Sox 7-2.

Advice: Rodón got 23 missed swings today, with seven of those coming on the 18 changeups he threw. Rodón had been throwing the changeup just six percent of the time this season, and if he can continue to get results with that pitch, he’ll be considerably more dangerous. As is, Rodón is already 5-2 with a 3.27 ERA. Still, his peripherals haven’t backed up the ERA to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:50 pm
    • David Bednar slams door on Cubs on Sunday
David Bednar slammed the door on the Cubs in the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon, preserving a one-run lead to earn his 10th save of the season.

Advice: It hasn’t always been easy for Bednar this season, but he has been much better of late and made things look easy on Sunday. He got Christopher Morel on a pop out to shortstop and Ian Happ on a pop out to third base to start the inning before issuing a two-out walk to Michael Busch. Not to worry though, as he battled back to retire Patrick Wisdom to end it. Bednar will look to further improve upon his bloated 7.85 ERA his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:07 pm
    • Nick Pivetta fans eight in defeating Cardinals
Nick Pivetta limited the Cardinals to one run and one hit over six innings in Boston’s 11-3 win Sunday.

Advice: The one hit was a 441-foot homer from Lars Nootbaar, but Pivetta retired every other batter he faced, striking out eight of them. He struggled in his first start back from the IL, but he has a 3.04 ERA and a 30/2 K/BB ratio through five outings this year. He’ll get the Brewers next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:28 pm
    • Looks sharp in first win
Flaherty (1-3) allowed two runs on five hits across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He walked two and struck out nine.

Advice: Flaherty was sharp as he lowered his ERA to 3.79 and picked up his first win of the season. Despite having only the one win so far, the righty has had a nice bounceback campaign to this point after posting a 4.99 ERA with the Orioles and Cardinals last year. Flaherty has been buoyed by a rise in strikeouts, as he now has an 11.9 K/9 this season, up from 9.2 in 2023. He'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled outing, which is is penciled in for Thursday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:44 am
    • Registers sixth save
Megill earned a save against the Astros on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out three baters over one inning.

Advice: Megill gave up a two-out single to Jake Meyers but was otherwise dominant, recording all three of his outs via strikeout. He threw 12 of 16 pitches for strikes and recorded his fifth save over five appearances in March. Megill appears to be locked in as Milwaukee's closer, as no other Brewer has notched a save this month. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:33 pm
    • Hamstring tightened during start
Gallen revealed after Saturday's start against the Tigers that his right hamstring tightened up on him during the fourth inning, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: It's the same hamstring that he had issues with earlier this season, which resulted in an early removal from one start and having another pushed back. Gallen wound up pitching into the seventh inning Saturday, ultimately getting charged with three runs on seven hits while striking out 10 over 6.2 frames. The right-hander said after the outing that his hamstring feels fine and he's unconcerned. Still, given that it's been a recurring problem, it's something to keep in mind.
