    • Cruises by Giants for win
      Stone (4-1) got the win Tuesday against the Giants, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out two over six innings.

      Advice: Stone walked more batters than he struck out, which is never ideal, but he generated a bunch of soft contact with the only run against him coming off a base hit in the sixth inning. That's now four straight quality starts for Stone during which he's allowed one run in each. Over his last six starts, the 25-year-old boasts a 2.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB in 36 innings. The strikeouts aren't there but Stone continues to give the Dodgers excellent length and tentatively lines up to face Arizona at home to begin next week. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:24 am
       
    • Eight Ks in no-decision
      Pivetta came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

      Advice: The right-hander generated an impressive 32 called or swinging strikes among his 81 pitches, but both runs off Pivetta came on solo shots by Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena, with the latter chasing him from the game one out short of his second quality start of the season. Pivetta has served up five homers in two starts since coming off the IL, a worrisome trend, but he'll carry a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 22:2 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in St. Louis.     • Generates quality start
      Rodon (4-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing one run on six hits and no walks during six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Rodon turned in his fourth quality start of his last five appearances and didn't issue a walk for a third straight start. The lone run charged against him came via a Ryan Jeffers homer in the bottom of the first. After posting a 6.85 ERA in his first season in New York, Rodon has bounced back with a 3.31 ERA through nine starts and is tied for the team lead in wins. Rodon is scheduled to close out a two-start week Sunday against the White Sox -- the team he played his first seven seasons with. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:16 pm
       
    • Gavin Stone holds Giants to one run in victory
      Gavin Stone pitched six innings, allowing just one run, in the Dodgers’ 10-2 drubbing of the Giants on Tuesday.

      Advice: Stone struck out only two and walked three tonight, but there wasn’t much hard contact from the injury-riddled Giants lineup. It’s Stone’s fourth straight quality start, and he’s now 4-1 with a 3.27 ERA overall. We don’t think he’s really this good, but since he definitely pitches for the right team, he’s worth playing in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:21 pm
       
    • Stellar against Marlins
      Olson did not factor into the decision Tuesday despite allowing just three hits over eight scoreless innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: While Olson was spectacular Tuesday, he was matched on the other side by Ryan Weathers, who also delivered eight scoreless frames in an eventual 1-0 Marlins win in 10 innings. Olson has held opponents to one run or fewer in five of his last six starts, including four straight. His ERA is down to 2.09 on the year with a 0.99 WHIP and 41:15 K:BB across 47.1 innings. Still, Olson's been incredibly unlucky to open his sophomore campaign, as he's yet to earn a win through eight starts.     • Nick Pivetta bounces back with solid effort vs TB
      Nick Pivetta allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays.

      Advice: Pivetta struck out eight on the day while walking none, but he was doomed by two solo home runs. The right-hander got back on track after his rough return from the IL, posting a 29 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. His sweeper was particularly dominant, getting five whiffs on eight swings and posting a 47 percent CSW. Pivetta also threw his curveball 1.3 mph harder than usual and found some success with it, so that’s something to watch for future starts. He’ll take a 3.48 ERA into an appealing start against a reeling Cardinals offense this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:27 pm

    • Rodón solid through six as Yankees down Twins
      Carlos Rodón allowed one earned run over six innings while striking out six and earning the win on Tuesday against the Twins.

      Advice: Rodón gave up a leadoff homer to Ryan Jeffers in the first inning but settled in nicely after. Three of the six hits he allowed came in the first inning, as he went on to scatter just three more hits over the following five frames. He lowered his ERA on the season to 3.31 and is now sitting on a 4-2 record through nine starts. He’ll look to pick up his fifth win of the season on Sunday against the White Sox.     • Reese Olson stellar in no-decision against Marlins
      Reese Olson threw eight shutout innings in a no-decision against the Marlins, allowing three hits and striking out six.

      Advice: Olson didn’t walk a batter or allow an extra-base hit all night. His slider was sharp on the night, helping him to a 29 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW overall. The 24-year-old now has a 2.09 ERA on the season with 41 strikeouts and just 15 walks in 47 1/3 innings. He somehow has no wins to show for it, but that should change soon. He gets a solid two-start week next week against the Royals and Blue Jays, and fantasy managers who were lucky enough to scoop him up on waivers should be thanking whoever dropped him (or didn’t draft him) earlier in the season.     • Return this weekend not ruled out
      Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Monday that it's "possible" that Rodriguez (shoulder) will return from the 15-day injured list to make a start this weekend against the Mariners, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

      Advice: Rodriguez got through a 30-pitch bullpen session Sunday with no issues and felt fine the day after. The right-hander will throw another bullpen session in the coming days, but his next step beyond that hasn't yet been determined.
