    • Reese Olson (hip) expects to make next start
Reese Olson is optimistic that he won’t miss any additional time after leaving his start Monday with a right hip contusion.

Advice: Olson said he blacked out for a second after the ball hit him, which definitely tracks with how he looked initially. Fortunately, there shouldn’t be any lasting damage. Olson did wind up taking another tough loss to the Royals after leaving down 2-0 the third. He’s now 0-5 in spite of a 2.16 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 7:49 pm

    • Blows save against Miami
Megill blew the save in Monday's loss to the Marlins. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Megill gathered the first two outs of the ninth inning on three pitches before yielding a single to Nick Gordon. Gordon promptly stole second and then was subsequently driven home via an Otto Lopez single to tie the game. This is Megill's first blown save of the season, so he should maintain his role as the Milwaukee closer. Rotowire.com Today, 7:12 pm
    • Trevor Megill takes blown save Monday vs. Marlins
Trevor Megill allowed one run in the ninth inning on Monday against the Marlins in a blown save.

Advice: Megill got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and wound up surrendering a game-tying single to Otto Lopez with two outs in the frame. It was only his first blown save of the season in seven opportunities. The 30-year-old righty figures to continue serving as Milwaukee’s primary stopper until Devin Williams is ready to return sometime around midseason. Rotoworld Today, 7:03 pm
    • Reese Olson has right hip contusion
Reese Olson was diagnosed with a right hip contusion after leaving Monday’s game.

Advice: Olson was hurt when he was hit by a Michael Massey lineup. How he feels tomorrow could determine whether an IL stint is required. Rotoworld Today, 6:19 pm

    • Nursing bruised hip
Olson has been diagnosed with a bruised right hip after being struck by a comebacker during Monday's start against Kansas City.

Advice: Olson appears to have escaped with a minor injury, though the team will closely monitor him over the next few days. His next start tentatively lines up for Saturday against the Blue Jays, and the club should have clarity on his upcoming availability later in the week. Olson noted after the game that he expects to be fine, and he was already moving around better, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 pm

    • Reese Olson exits after taking liner to hip
Reese Olson left Monday’s game in the third inning after taking a liner off his hip.

Advice: Beau Breiske replaced him versus the Royals. Olson gave up two runs — one earned — and five hits in 2 2/3 innings, putting him in line for the loss. If he needs to skip his next start, the Tigers could slot Kenta Maeda into his spot. Rotoworld Today, 6:01 pm

    • Leaves start early
Olson exited Monday's start against the Royals after being struck by a line drive in his right hip, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. He surrendered two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over 2.2 innings before departing.

Advice: Olson was forced to leave the game after being hit by a comebacker that registered at 102 mph off the bat, though he did attempt to fire a few warmup pitches before the training staff walked him off the field, per Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. Beau Brieske entered the game to replace Olson in the bottom of the third inning. Rotowire.com Today, 5:32 pm

    • Pops first homer of May
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign, so there's little reason for concern about his slightly slower stretch of production. • Earns win against former team
Rodon (5-2) earned the win Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Rodon allowed a homer and a triple in the second inning, leading to two runs, but didn't allow another runner to cross the plate through six quality frames against his former club. According to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, Yankees manager Aaron Boone confessed after the game that Rodon was battling a cold all week, and the skipper considered pulling him after five but was impressed with the way he battled back after the shaky second frame. It was the third consecutive quality start and win for Rodon, who will carry a 3.27 ERA into his next start, tentatively slated to take place in San Diego when the Yankees travel to take on the Padres during a three-game weekend set.
