    • Checks boxes in bullpen session
Eflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sunday's session was Eflin's second bullpen in the last four days. He threw two simulated innings and came away feeling good. There hasn't been an official date set for his return, but Eflin said he's "checked the boxes" in his recovery and could return as early as June 5 against Miami. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm

    • Holds on for save
Garcia secured a save after he pitched one inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Garcia entered the game in the top of the ninth inning, tasked with protecting a 5-3 lead. He surrendered a leadoff double to Oneil Cruz, then struck out back-to-back batters before Rowdy Tellez notched an RBI single. Garcia then punched out Ji Hwan Bae to end the contest, securing his third save of the season. He now possesses a 1.57 ERA and 0.74 WHIP on the year while striking out 29 batters over 23 innings in 22 appearances out of the bullpen. Garcia is likely the primary ninth-inning option for Toronto due to Jordan Romano (shoulder) being on the 15-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:15 pm

    • Works into seventh
Bello did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bello cruised through the first four in allowing only two baserunners and finished the sixth inning in line for a quality start and the win. For the first time all year, Bello was called upon to go back out for the seventh, but after recording one out, he allowed the next two runners to reach base prior to being pulled, with both runners eventually coming around to score, adversely impacting his final line. It was only the second time this year that Bello has not been involved in the decision. His next opportunity to take the hill will likely come next weekend when Boston travels to Chicago to take on the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:06 pm

    • Yimi García shaky, earns save vs. Pirates
Yimi García allowed two hits and an earned run in an uneven save against the Pirates on Sunday.

Advice: He also struck out three. Toronto went right to García with Jordan Romano back on the IL for the save. Oneil Cruz scalded a double 111.8 MPH to start the ninth inning and came around to score, but García still closed it out. He looks to be secure in the role while Romano is out. • Brayan Bello falters late in no-decision
Brayan Bello was charged with four runs in 6 1/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: This one is on Alex Cora, who sent Bello back out for the seventh to face the top of the lineup for a fourth time even though he had given up runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Bello surrendered hits to two of the three batters he faced before being pulled, and Justin Slaten allowed both runners to score afterwards. Bello remains 6-2 with a 4.36 ERA. • Allows two homers in no-decision
Woods Richardson did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Astros. He struck out six.

Advice: Woods Richardson, a native of suburban Houston, was pulled after one out in the fifth prior to facing the top of the Astros lineup for the third time. It was not a bad outing for Woods Richardson, though he doubled his homers allowed for the season, allowing a solo homer to Victor Caratini in the second followed by a two-run blast by Alex Bregman in the third that accounted for each of his three runs allowed. Following a five-run blowup against Toronto on May 11, Woods Richardson had allowed only three runs over his previous three starts totaling 15 innings coming into the day. He still maintains a 3.05 ERA and 1.11 WHIP on the season. He's next slated to toe the rubber next weekend when the Twins travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:57 pm
    • Simeon Woods Ricardson takes no-decision
Simeon Woods Richardson yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Woods Richardson gave up homers to Victor Caratini and Alex Bregman, but he allowed just one other hit in the outing before exiting after retiring the only batter he faced in the fifth. Woods Richardson has been quite good in compiling a 3.05 ERA for the Twins, but this makes four times in nine starts that he hasn’t been given the chance to complete five innings. It’s part of why he’s just 2-0 while the Twins have gone 7-2 in his starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm
    • Not in Sunday's lineup
Estrada (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old jammed his thumb Friday against New York and will sit Sunday for the second consecutive contest. Brett Wisely will shift to second base in place of Estrada while Casey Schmitt starts at shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:25 am

    • Joining Sunday's lineup
Adames is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Both Adames and William Contreras were scheduled to receive their first days off of the season Sunday, but they were apparently able to lobby their way into the starting nine. Over the past 11 games, Adames is hitting .372 with six doubles, two homers, 13 RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 am
